What else did you expect that Durbin was going to say? That's not what he thinks. He's a Democrat, he has no core belief that laws apply to politicians, and he voted "not guilty" on Clinton's impeachment. His was the standard politician's lie in answer to the question.

This is not the Soviet Union, if that law is good enough for the regular guy it is good enough for a politician. No one is above the law.
If the law is too onerous for this country then it needs to be fixed.
So it would be safe to say that Durbin, along with all of the other scumbags in Congress should not receive “special” treatment for ANYTHING.
