Ice sheets at both of Earth's poles are melting rapidly, and the rate of loss has increased since the 1990s, a new NASA-sponsored study shows.

The study, which combines extensive data from aircraft and satellites, is believed to be the most precise assessment of its kind.

Am I the only one who thinks it would be GREAT if the polar ice really was melting?

I don’t believe any of the AGW BS, but I’m pretty sure the Sahara was once a lush jungle. Seems to me, more water in the atmosphere might be a good thing.

Looks to me like it's Blue States contributing the most to Global Warming!

Obama is doing his part to combat Global Warming by keeping the victims of Hurricane Sandy living in homes with no heat and no electric.

Lather. Rinse. Repeat.

Second verse same as the first.

More BS from government parasites trying to justify their waste of tax dollars.

Good. It will open up fishing opportunities in the area. If we’re lucky, enough will melt to kill a bunch of dangerous, predatory polar bears.

Watching the History Channel’s “History of Mankind” the other evening they had a segment on the Mongol empire under Genghis Khan. What caused the Mongols to leave their homeland and seek to conquer other lands?

A period of global warming turned lush and green Mongolia into a barren desert in the 12th century.

Funny, there was mention of the sun causing this warming period but no mention of it being a man-caused event as we must suffer through today.

the continent's relative isolation makes a strong link to global warming elusive.

How telling is that little snippet?

We just know it's there, but it's just "elusive".

I wonder if they have Muslim-transgendered toilet/prayer rooms on the space station. My guess is this is why they’ve had to scale back the space program so much in recent years.

Hmmm...that’s funny. NASA’s own website shows the antarctic ice sheet has been near or ABOVE long-term means for several years now.

Now hold on a minute. Far be it for me to disagree with government scientists but other scientists seem to disagree, and as usual, over the data and over the cherry picked, misconstrued, error prone data--that NASA admits has issues! As usual, anything masquerading as consensus is FAR from consented.

A very good SCIENTIFIC rebuttal here:

Why ice loss and sea level measurements via satellite and the new Shepherd et al paper are highly uncertain at the moment By Anthony Watts.

It's like onr reply I had a whle back on NASA but I expanded a bit.

Two time travelling men meet, they have a short discussion:

1970 Man: We can put man on the Moon.

2012 Man: Oh yeah, we can't even get a man into orbit, but we can surf for porn on the internet!

1970 Man: .........

Now that Zero has won reelection, they are going to be pushing Cap and Tax really hard, both at the administrative level (EPA), executive order, and legislatively (Will likely be inserted into the “Fiscal Cliff” legislation or Debt ceiling legislation)
