Iran Building Powerful Nuclear Device
Israel National News ^ | 11/27/2012 | David Lev

Iran is planning to build a nuclear bomb with at least triple the force of the bomb that destroyed Hiroshima in World War II, diagrams obtained by the Associated Press indicates. According to AP, the diagrams were first discovered by International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) scientists after an inspection of an Iranian nuclear facility. The document was published by the AP Tuesday after, the news agency said, it was leaked by officials critical of the way the West has been handling the Iran issue.

The diagrams discovered by the IAEA show Iranian scientists calculating the desired "nuclear explosive yield" in a device they were apparently working on.

......

The diagrams showed a scientific calculation of the expected yield of a nuclear device, with a maximum force of 50 kilotons, experts who saw the AP diagrams said. There was no possibility that the diagrams referred to a process other than construction of a nuclear weapon, the experts said.

If Iran is indeed designing a nuclear weapon with a 50 kiloton yield, it will be significantly stronger than the bombs that were dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in Japan during World War II, which were only 15 kilotons powerful. Nuclear weapons held by the U.S., Russia, and other countries are significantly stronger than a bomb with a 50 kiloton yield.

Iran, meanwhile, said Tuesday that it had filed complaints with the United Nations over what it said were violations of its airspace by U.S. planes.

...........

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast on Tuesday: Any country that violates Iranian airspace, he said, could expect “strong measures” to be taken against their planes or drones.

Those terms blend a bit at that level. A true H-bomb is a Teller-Ulam style multistage device. A boosted primary alone is what triggers the H-bombs. The initial ‘A-Bombs’ in the 40’s weren’t boosted.

So a boosted gets from you 15-20 up to 50-60, maybe a 400 kt depending. A true ‘H-bomb’ can be lower yield though, I depends on if the weapon uses the primary/secondary configuration. The primary (boosted or not) is considered just a primary.

Adding the hydrogen isotopes tritium and deuterium boosts the yield of fission bombs. This was first tested by the US during the early 1950s and doubled the explosive yield from the first Hiroshima and Nagasaki designs. Iran is assisted in developing high yield bombs because that the technology is well known and almost certainly they had help from either North Korea or rogue Pakistani nuke designer A.Q.Khan.

Iran’s building an enormous nuclear weapon???

Wow, there’s a shocker.

Do you think maybe somebody should tell the Israelis? It’s possible they don’t know about this....

Of course it won’t be the iranians who drop the bomb on Israel. They’ll use a proxy, maybe have the syrians do it for them.

“how many Muslims/Arabs/Palestinians would a bomb that size kill in addition to the Israelis?
That’s ok, they will be declared “martyrs” and everybody will be happy!”

That’s actually their strategy.

The muslim world knows that a modestly successful nuclear attack on Israel would result in many, many muslim deaths.

They also realize that in the aftermath of the attack, Israeli survivors would likely initiate “The Samson Option”, destroying a good part of the muslim world.

However — the muslims don’t care. They (or those who purport to lead them, spiritually) would give up half their population, so long as Israel was obliterated in the exchange.

The muslim world would survive, but Israel would be gone.
For them, that’s “game over”.

They could always detonate it in another Muslim country and blame it on Israel or us. They don’t have the capability to make nukes so it would have to be the evil infidels.

Bear in mind that Iran would most likely be building more than one bomb—probably quite a few. And remember that Iran has sent at least a couple of satellites into space, and long ago claimed to have or claimed that they were building EMP weapons. Iranian leaders have threatened to destroy Israel, but also, a few years ago, to destroy the West (several times).

Publications in certain European countries propagandized for several years that there is only a conflict between Iran and Israel in order to mislead us into negotiating between the two (against Israel) as moral equals instead of seeing Iran as an enemy against the West in general.

I posted hundreds of articles on the topic a few years ago, but most who commented downplayed the importance of the matter and ridiculed such news (probably international trade interests, revenue/debt interests other than defense, anti-Israel interests, others). Iran most likely obtained assistance from higher education in our own USA (many of them in physics, engineering,...) more directly from engineers from North Korea, Pakistan and other places (public news).

Oil, money and pride are not more important than what we should be doing (pride, for example, that of a particular Pharoah of the past, and maybe another in Babylon, and many others). Many have recently said that they have feelings of unease—that something terrible might happen in the near future. But their responses about their intended reactions are often erroneous and wrong (plans to live by the sword against their own neighbors). They haven’t learned about the only righteous fear that they should have.

So what can a 50kt device do?

Use your imagination. Picture a ton of TNT on a football field and expect it to absolutely destroy everything on the field - every blade of grass and make it so you never knew the bleachers were there.

Now, picture 50,000 football fields all bunched together. How far do they stretch in all directions?
