Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah congratulated the Palestinians in Gaza on their "first victory" over Israel's armed forces.
In a televised address on Friday, the ninth day of the Shiite Muslim festival of Ashura, Nasrallah said, "The first victory of the resistance was that it prevented the enemy from achieving his goals, the greater victory was that it did not let the enemy impose his conditions, and the greatest victory was that it imposed its own conditions.
"The resistance, which lost a martyr, was able to fight efficiently ( ) resistance movements in the region no longer depend on individuals," Nasrallah said according to the Hezbollah-affiliated Al-Manar website.
"It is enough to look at the faces of the tripartite, Netanyahu, Obama, and Lieberman to see their defeat, they were similar to the faces of Livni, Peres, and Olmert after the July war (Second Lebanon War)," he said.
Nasrallah claimed that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu "did not put high goals for this war. He rather put low goals so that he would achieve them and announce his victory, but even these he failed to achieve.
"The first goal was to destroy the Palestinian resistance's leadership. He failed in that. The second goal was to destroy the resistance's missile system. He also failed in that. The third goal was to reinforce Israel's deterrence power. This war rather weakened this power," he added.
The Hezbollah leader said Operation Pillar of Defense proved that the Israeli air force "is not capable of putting an end to the battle with Gaza," and claimed that "it was clear that when the Israelis called the reserve soldiers, it was for imposing a psychological war, because they were scared of engaging in a ground war."
Nasrallah continued to mock Israel, saying "if you failed to win a war against Gaza which has been under siege, what would be the case if you engage yourself in a war with someone else?"
You might be able to trouble Israel, but can you defeat the God of Israel?
Notice that you do not see him saying this to an armed IDF soldier...
Just light em all up.
His followers don’t really believe that they defeated Israel, do they?
They most probably believe him. Why would they not?
The people in those countries are told by their media and leaders what to believe. If they believe they have won a victory..they will only fight harder next time.
“The people in those countries are told by their media and leaders what to believe.”
Just like our Obama voters...;)
Yalla yalla, Naralllah
I liked the old wars better when you had a war before signing a truce or ceasefire. I don’t remember that happening here.
This is kind of like public school. They were the first runners-up. That's kind of like winning, isn't it:? I think you call it "defining-down victory," or perhaps "defining-up defeat" so you can declare victory.
These guys need to watch "Monty Python and the Holy Grail," where the knight has his arms and legs cut off, but chirps defiantly on his stumps:: "Cam awn, you think you're so tough! It's nothin' but a flesh wound!"
The universalism of Islam, in its all-embracing creed, is imposed on the believers as a continuous process of warfare, psychological and political, if not strictly military. . . . The Jihad, accordingly, may be stated as a doctrine of a permanent state of war, not continuous fighting.2

Why is the fat bastard, Nasrallah still alive? His head should by on a pike or he should be droned out. Strike terror into the hearts of the infideliphobe.
Whiney collectivist ALERT!
Hey now! Quit reading my mind, lol.
Different locale...different message...same circumstances.
Israel is still on the map, and Jerusalem is still her capital.
I love the quote “resistance movements no longer depend on individuals” when their intelligence chief was killed. Now they can depend on cannon fodder.
Israel just took out the trash in Gaza.
Yeah, Nasarallah, that is why you have been living underground and rarely show your face in the light of day since the Lebanon II war. Stay underground you mole - you will eventually be smoked out and eliminated.
This should be the next guy with a bullseye target on his back... if there’s not one already.
This silly mudslime has no idea of the power that Israel could unleash, IF it wasn’t such a humane country.
What amazes me is that Nasrallah actually withdrew from his favorite goat consort for a few minutes in order to make this statement.
Let’s see Israel “lose” like this again, except with much greater jihadist carnage.
Hassan Nasrallah....next on the target list.
This POS needs to die an explosive death
It was a two party event.
According to the palis, they came in second and Isreal was next to last.
Nasrallah is right, they won. Hamas committed an act that would have been considered so outrageous 50 years ago that any sovereign country would not have tolerated it one iota. After firing hundreds of rockets into Israel, Hamas still occupies its territory, solidified its relations with Egypt (instead of Syria), and brought the US in to help protect them diplomatically. All accomplished through the use of unmitigated aggression. Israel let them off the hook, and backed down. They went to war in the past over a lot less, but not this time.
The Muslim mind only understands one thing, overwhelming force. Any thing less is interpreted as weakness and defeat. Look at Afghanistan for proof. The Afghan people know we are unwilling to unleash total war on the Taliban, and have announced when we are going to leave. Thus they perceive us as the eventual losers of this conflict. They will not support us for this very reason. They will make their peace with the winners down the road. Their mentality only respects the iron fist. Give them a total thrashing, they will respect you. Try to be nice with force restraint and nation building they will perceive you as weak, and the eventual loser. That is how they think in Kabul, and that is how they think in Gaza.
What makes you think he withdrew? His statement was probably made to the American journ-o-list occupying the goat next to his.
Two words for Hezbollah (soon to be ex) “Secretary-General” Hassan Nasrallah...
Pretty big mouth for a guy who has to sleep in a different place every night.
