Well, I think it's important we speak correctly. Government can, of course, create jobs. Simply hire a few thousand workers to do something, and pay them from the general fund. But it takes the free market to create value, create worth, that creates jobs that pay taxes into the general fund. If the government REALLY wanted to help, they'd open up factories to create products. Or farm. But then they'd be competing against the free market, and violating their charter.
In a government job, his pay comes from an entirely separate source...the taxpayer. Without the taxpayer (i.e. a person who works in a free market economic endeavor), there is no government job.
