Fordham struggles to defend condemning Ann Coulter...
College Insurrection ^ | 15 Nov 2012 | Robert Shibley

Fordham University is in a bit of a bind.

After loudly proclaiming his “disgust” with the “hate speech” of conservative pundit Ann Coulter in an email to all students, in the process slamming the Fordham College Republicans—his own students—as immature bigots who lack character, Fordham President Joseph McShane, S.J., is now faced with defending his administration’s invitation to philosopher and infanticide advocate Peter Singer to participate in a panel on “animal ethics.”

This puts Fordham in a tough spot.

Father McShane could have allowed the marketplace of ideas to function on its campus without engaging in an electronic temper tantrum. (To his credit, he did not ban Coulter from campus, although the College Republicans clearly saw which way the wind was blowing and canceled the event themselves—here’s one student’s reaction to that.) But he didn’t, and now Fordham is stuck trying to justify McShane’s statement.

Well, IMO, Fordham is justified because we all know that only Republicans engage in hate speech or other acts of hate!

Fordham President Joseph McShane, S.J. is a fascist pig. His kind proves WWII was ended entirely too soon.

If you promote infanticide peering over the top of your glasses, an invitation to speak at Fordham is in the mail.

Doesn’t this charcter have a Bishop or anyone he has to religiously answer to, or is he the law unto himself?

He is a Jesuit. I think the Jesuit chain of command goes through Jesuit provinces. I think the head Jesuit reports to the Pope.

What is the Catholic Church?

Said while exhaling aromatic smoke after knocking back a shot and taking a hit, "It's whatever you want it to be, man. Whatever you want it to be."

Peter Singer is also famous for advocating bestiality—sexual relations with animals. He says it’s OK, as long as the beasts consent.

I knew things were bad at Fordham. But it looks as if Fr. McShane may have stepped over the line and put his foot in it. I sure hope he gets what he deserves for this insanity.

I don’t really see how this is any worse than inviting Zer0 to speak at Notre Dame. These priests running these high styled co-called ‘Catholic’ universities have forgotten who they are and are so in the world as to be willingly separated from Christ and His Church.

No surprise here...

“I think the head Jesuit reports to the Pope.”

And God reports to the Jesuit.

Jesuits believe in Karl Marx. Their sacraments are genocide, infanticide, abortion, euthanasia, homosexual marriage, bestiality, pederasty, sodomy, suppression of individual rights, supremacy of the STATE, and redistribtuion of wealth.

Peter Singer? They couldn’t find anyone more demonic, I guess, so they had to invite him: the guy who thinks it’s worse to eat a cheeseburger than to kill a baby under the age of one.

Any parents who let their kid go to Fordham should be arrested for child abuse.

Difficult to understand the radical, and largely secular and atheist, embrace of the whole PC line by once fine religious institutions.

Are there any left wherein the administraion and faculty actually believe in G-d any longer?
