WE LIVE IN A WORLD GONE MAD (What the heck is happening with those who are defending this country?)

In the post immediately below, Scott recaps some of the recent developments in the Petraeus scandal. I want to add one or two more, and also elaborate a bit on one of the items that Scott mentioned.

The most significant of the recent bombshells, I think, is the report that Eric Holder knew about the scandal as of late summer, when the FBI contacted his office to get permission to interview Petraeus and Paula Braodwell. Holder apparently claims that he never mentioned this potentially election-derailing news to his boss and good buddy, Barack Obama. I find this claim–that, while many others in Washington knew of the Petraeus investigation, including Congressmen like Eric Kantor, Obama himself was blissfully ignorant until three days after the election–wholly implausible, just as I find implausible the claim that it was sheer coincidence that the scandal didn’t become public until then.

The least significant development, but one of the weirdest, is the replacement of the FBI agent who began the investigation on behalf of the bureau. The agent, whose name apparently has not been disclosed, was removed from the investigation after he “grew obsessed” with it, and specifically with Jill Kelley, to whom he sexted shirtless photos of himself.

Jill Kelley

The story I want to return to is the one involving another general, John Allen, who succeeded Petraeus as the commander of American and allied troops in Afghanistan. As a form of collateral damage, apparently, the FBI has found that General Allen, like the FBI agent, is obsessed with Jill Kelley. She must be quite a woman! Allen can be printed, in most editions, in under 1,500 pages. So what on earth were General Allen and Mrs. Kelley writing so as to fill up 20,000 to 30,000 pages? Poetry? Love notes? The longest military treatise ever? Assume it took General Allen a mere five minutes to either read or write one page–no doubt a low estimate, when it comes to writing–and use the mid-point of 25,000 pages. That would mean that Allen devoted 125,000 minutes to his correspondence with Mrs. Kelley, or 2,083 hours–in other words, a full work year (40 hours times 52 weeks). No wonder we aren’t winning in Afghanistan!

Since 1998 we’ve settled. We settled for Bush the Elder. We settled for Dole. We settled for Bush the Younger. We settled for McCain. By the time we had settled for Romney it was too late. They had everything in place to steal the election.

Why not condemn? She looks like a streetwalker, the exact kind that FR is so quick to type "I'd hit it" and "not guilty"--

Cheap, slutty-looking women always get a pass.

Stalin's purges featured "show trials".

0bama's purges feature "sex bombshell circuses".

The end result is the same. The patriotic and "unreliable" soldiers are disgraced and removed, the toadies are installed, and absolute power is cemented. Then the gulags start filling.

In a few years we will probably be invading Finland in the winter with brass bands - except in our case it will be Israel...

Having spent some time in the intelligence community, I am reminded of an old saying “Don’t believe everything you see in the funny papers” or words to that effect.

Wasn’t there a similar situation during the civil war with one lady involved with numerous senior officers? Any historians or civil war buffs here?

Holder’s apparent failure to bring this IMMEDIATELY to the Current Occupant of the Oval Office was not an oversight. The information was getting to the real power broker there, Valerie Jarrett, and was also going out the pipeline to David Axelrod, even though he is not “officially” in the White Hut any longer.

It is as though the Chicago Mob were now holding the White Hut as their own fiefdom.

Obama is now largely a figurehead, useful only as a mouthpiece for the Mob, which is why he has to keep the earpiece in and read what is scrolling past him on the Teleprompter.

When Obama goes off-script, the powers behind figuratively start crapping bricks.

Which are useful later, when broken in two and used as ammunition to launch at anyone making an assault from the outside.

Is the “purge of generals” underway??

That is always in the playbook for those who have dictatorial aspirations, you know. Think Stalin, Castro, Hitler, and many others.

“Three Block War” - troops will fight on one, keep the peace on the next, and pass out food on the last. Nice and pretty, right? BULLSH*T. It’s a good marketing term for transforming the military into a social program, the liberal wet-dream. And a lot of COIN assumptions are pipe-dreams, too.

We send those men out to turn feudal, heroin-dealing Afghanis into dusky Americans. And we leave them out there with no women. THEN we send out lithe, young athletic women with tight-fitting clothes and are then TOTALLY AMAZED at the results. And it’s mostly cuz of feminism.

Lessay you put a bag-lady in an unguarded Tiffany’s overnight —what kind of embicile would be surprised if there’s a ring or ten missing...? But that’s where we are, using a very new and ridiculous set of assumptions about how people work.

Remember Bubba? When he was busted in the Monica Mess every network was trecking out to France to find beret-wearing scumbags mutter amazement about American Puritans lack of understanding about “how men inevitably are”. WHERE ARE THEY NOW...? The double-standard is amazing.

Did you know that the State Dept. ads for Consulate Guards called for Arabic-speaking homosexuals familiar with firearms and willing to work for $13,000 per year..(DOJ hiring afforded advantages to insane dwarves with J.D.’s)...?

That’s only slightly less insane than the notion that this sudden MSM focus on the T&A aspects of this scandal actually serves to cover-up a uch LARGER SCANDAL....

Ms Kelley is from a prominent Lebanese Christian family now residing in Tampa. The potential for manipulation by foreign intelligence agencies of people who probably have relatives still within the reach of say Syrian intel goons is obvious. The volume of e-mail from Gen. Allen to this woman reeks of a major security breech not just a lot of hot sex mails.

I am thinking this not so much as a purge as it is character assassination. Think “Whitewater”.

Back during her wild single years, my wife went to Mardi Gras a few times and got to know a cop down there. There is some kind of grand ball where everyone cross-dresses. Apparently more than half of Congress would attend.

Just sayin'...

I’m thinking the same thing. Destroy the military to avoid a possible coup?

You can ask Generals Werner von Fritsch & Werner von Blomberg about how this goes.

At least so far, 0bama and his goons have not pulled a Marshal Tukachevsky on our military leadership.

But now that the election is over, the military is being purged. The men will be replaced with more of the Dempsey-types. Kind of a cross between Dmitri Pavlov and Wilhelm Keitel.

I think we’re finally realising that everyone is pretty much the same, even those we think should be above certain behaviors.

It's worse than than. Washington, D.C. is the real sin city of this country. The seamy energy is palpable if you are anything but a casual tourist.
