I know it stinks for the people being laid off but... I’m finding it very hard to summon any sympathy for them, and to see this as anything but good news. These socialists need to feel the pain of their decisions. Maybe a little negative reinforcement will help them make better (ie. not Marxist/socialist/fascist) decisions in the future.
I have to admit it makes me smile. For the obvious reason but also for another reason. Universal is the biggest actor pay cheat in the business. James Garner sued Universal because they said ROCKFORD FILES didn’t make a profit. Garner got paid big. But it didn’t change Universal’s cheating ways. I know some people who worked on a Universal film that is a cult hit. Universal says it’s never made a profit.

I’m not counting on it. There will ALWAYS be scapegoats for socialism’s failures.
It won’t be long before people are crying for Obama to DO SOMETHING! and PASS A LAW! And we’ll get more socialism.
