There was a Star Wars novel that this brings to mind. Darth Vader is relaxing in a tub of revitalizing fluids, without his armor. He starts to feel better, but as he starts to feel better, his connection to the dark side weakens, and he starts having trouble breathing without his helmut. It’s the contradiction of the dark side. He can’t live without it, so he must stay angry and unhappy
Liberals cannot breath unless they are connected to the dark side, which makes them angry and unhappy, so they live angry. It’s a metaphor, I know, but I think an apt one.
There is a Bible verse that I can’t place right now that talks about how the wicked must continue to do wickedly, describing their life almost as an addiction syndrome.
I’ll post it when I can find the verse. Of course there is the verse,,,”The dog returns to its vomit” but it doesn’t quite get to the same sense.
