George P. Bush moves toward seeking office in Texas

George P. Bush of Fort Worth, the son of a former governor, and a grandson and nephew of former U.S. presidents, has filed paperwork with the Texas Ethics Commission, seemingly in preparation for a run for local or statewide office.

As first reported by The New Republic, Bush, 36, filed what is called an "appointment of a campaign treasurer by a candidate" form, which Texas Ethics Commission general Counsel Tim Sorrells said is required of someone who is a candidate.

The report, filed Wednesday, does not indicate which office Bush has his eye on. That might become more evident on Jan. 15, the next deadline for campaign finance reports.

He is a son of former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, grandson of former President George H. W. Bush and a nephew of former president and Texas governor George W. Bush.

Bush keeps residences in Fort Worth, where his wife works as an attorney, and in Austin where he is a partner in Pennybacker Capital.

He co-founded the Hispanic Republicans of Texas Political Action Committee. He is considered one of the GOP's rising Latino stars and told the Tribune in March that "politics is in his blood." He declined then to speculate about any immediate plans to seek office, although speculation has centered on a run for comptroller.

Bush said that on issues such as immigration, he was a George W. Bush Republican -- a moderate.

Here is a question for you and anybody else who is interested:

When did his Mexican mother become a U.S. citizen?

I am asking because I don’t have the answer.

we had Mc Cain then we had Romney and looking at these rresults in WI, FL, OH, VA, PA then they do not add up as precints do not get 100% turn out and every vote goes for obama

But we got a rigged election and the only guy with balls is Col Allen West but the GOP’s answer is not to investigate these results no sir they have another Bush to give us.

His mother is Mexican, so he would have the heritage and interests to do this

I see no problem with it

well, Columba Bush has been married to Governor Jeb Bush since 1974 so I guess there has been plenty of time for her to become a US citizen

I do, and thank you.

al qaeda took its best shot and only killed innocents, leaving congress and an up and coming senator in chicago unscathed. Oh well.

Thank you for your reply. But here is another thought:

George P. was born in 1976. Jeb and wife were married in ‘74. It takes 5 years to become a U.S. citizen.

Again, just digging for the truth.

Thank you.

“He is considered one of the GOP’s rising Latino stars”

If by law you are what you daddy is, why does the latest Bush call himself a Latino?

I’ll tell you why. Like any good liberal he is already pandering for a a vote and will now claim he’s hispanic, when his father is 100% white American. He’s a joke.

P.S.

What I am saying is that Jeb’s wife was not a U.S. citizen at the time of G.P.’s birth because of the length of time it takes to become a citizen (which if 5 years).

One of my biggest headaches for the last two years has been dealing with the “help” that President Bush gave all the people on Medicare in the form of prescription drug coverage.

My mother had two prescriptions that were covered by the drug company who made the drugs because she was low enough in income to qualify for free medicine.

Then came this prescription drug assistance. She was told she had to sign up for a particular program, which she could not afford. She then qualified for “extra help” from Social Security. Wading into all this after the fact, I could never find out who told her she had to have this particular policy, but she was stuck with it.

Several times over the last year after I had to take over her affairs, I spent hours on the phone with WellCare - affectionately known here as “HellCare” - trying to get them to pay for an antibiotic that they claim was not necessary.

I will not vote for another moderate/Bush even if it’s for dog catcher. No. Way.

36 years old and he’s going to spend the rest of his life in government la la land. Make a living young fellow and come back in 15 years and tell us how you made out. Don’t come riding in on a family name, with no real experience, and presume to tell America that you have the answer to anything. We already have a shallow narcissist in the Oval Office who has accomplished nothing in life except for political success.

P.S. again.

If she became a U.S. citizen before 5 years, 2 years in this case, they used some backdoor shenanigans.

by birth you are what your mother is, ask any Jew

George P’s mother is Mexican

I say we can and do claim any of our birth relatives to trace a heritage and George P is no different

Pandering for a Vote? Maybe, but maybe not

This kid surely grew up with strong influences on his political views from his maternal heritage

Like it or not, any GOP or viable national alternative party that survives another 10 years is going to have to become browner and more inclusive...and create a new generation of non-white CONSERVATIVES
