Leftist Ford Foundation Cuts WaPo $500K Check (July 30, 2012)
Breitbart.com, Big Journalism ^ | Ben Shapiro

According to the Washington Post, the Ford Foundation has given the newspaper some $500,000 to hire four new staff – a lucrative $125,000 per job deal. The goal: to try “new approaches to preserve and advance high-quality journalism.” The four new positions will “work on special projects related to money, politics and government … The one-year-grant – with an agreement in principal for two additional years – is part of the Foundation’s Freedom of Expression program, an initiative aimed at promoting journalism in the public interest.” The Ford Foundation recently handed $1 million to the Los Angeles Times to cover “Vietnamese, Korean and other immigrant communities, the California prison system, the border region and Brazil.”

You are correct, the Ford Foundation is (now) separate from the company.

That said, this owner of a long, long line of mostly Fords just bought a Japanese car (made in America, but non-union).

Lots of reasons, but certainly one is that the Ford would have sent some my money to the fungi at UAW (and thus to the rodent Dems).

(That said, Ford is a zillion times more preferable than g.m. or chrysler...icky)

Ford Motors is as nazi as they come and always was. You might as well drive Wolkswagen. A while back, a big blob of the ownership was “palestinian” holdings.

I live in a very ignorant mis-informed world. At least I was lucky enough to be a kid in the 60’s and 70’s.

I’ve come to the conclusion it’s better to buy Japanese cars and reward a fantastic culture where hard work is still an ideal and where women respect their men.

I've found it best to buy used. It's a helluva lot cheaper. ;-)

Do you have electricity; IBEW? Do you send or receive packages UPS; Teamsters or FedEx; ALPA?

"(That said, Ford is a zillion times more preferable than g.m. or chrysler...icky)"

My Dad's been a ford man since he purchased a used 56 F-100 Ford Pickup.

But he wouldn't give you a plug nickel for the new ones. He sez they've cheapened them up, the suspension sucks and all the electronic doodads and computer crap under the hood make them nearly impossible to work on.

We are looking for a 60's model Ford pickup and we are gonna fix it up. Not for shows and stuff but an actual work truck that you can fix if it breaks down.

Then he hasn't driven one or hauled a load with one through mountain passes. What is there to work on except oil changes and brakes for the first 100,000 miles?

NPR especially has played this little game for decades.

A liberal foundation gives big money to hire a liberal “journalist” to report on stories endorsed and approved by the liberal foundation.

The takeover of these foundations by Alinskyite communists was one of Zero's primary activities during his Chicago “community organizing” days.

Stanley Kurtz has documented it in great detail.

That’s what I did with an old 1998 Viper I bought. It was just missing the suspension and I fixed it by researching/hunting down original suspensions for it. Either that or I bid again on Barrett-Jackson.

I wouldn't buy a GM, Chrysler, or Ford if you paid me.

You don't have to worry about me paying you but I would love to have a new Ford Pick-Up truck.

Let’s boycott BLUE!!

What the hell does that even mean? Furthermore, I just finished reading your entire posting history. Quite bizarre to me. Nevertheless, I will defer to TheOldLady and her entourage to decipher and figure out if the Viking Kitties need to be called.

Until then, I'll stick with boycotting the MSM as I have for the past 15 years.

Welcome to Free Republic.

The Ford Foundation has been Left since at least the late 60s - way before Obama was on the scene. No outsider was needed to ruin that institution - the inmates who run that asylum are the some of the nuttiest people on earth.
