Anybody feeling a sense of regret among Obama voters

Posted on 11/07/2012 6:14:47 PM PST by BelleAl

I spent a great time talking to my sweet, but sometimes clueless daughters about the impact of this election. They tend to see themselves as more progressive - pro gay marriage, global warming, etc... (before you guys flame away, please know I did my best -- this is college academic influence on them). The sense I get from them and from my conversations today with friends and acquaintances, is that there seems to be a overwhelming atmosphere of regret or to be more graphic and explicit...an oh s__t, what did we just do attitude.

I don't see an in-your-face hurrah jubilation like 4 years ago (except among the DBM)...just a quiet, somber reaction. I wonder if you guys are sensing that and if so, is it registering in Washington? The dynamics are definitely different this time around and I hope it is seen as unsettling to those in power. I'm feeling an edge, a vibe of unrest, uncertainty.

No. They are pretty much rubbing our faces in it. You should get out more.

I am thinking the lack of Obama signs this election was out of shame...seriously.

I have not talked to any Obama voters yet. A friend did note a conversation with a young girl who was horrified that he had voted for Romney...”how could you, he wants to put women back in the dark ages!”

The university crowd will be struggling all their lives to pay the bills that Obama is running up on their credit. They’ll pass it on to their children and grandchildren like a genetic disease. And worse, they will have helped bring this curse upon themselves.

I think you're imagining it. Obama voters cast ballots for him in 08 and again this time around. They won and are happy about it. Perhaps these people are just walking on eggshells around you because they know you're guy didn't win and are afraid you will cry or something?

I’m personally hoping for a “cloward piven” moment. how ironic.

Govt is the lifeblood of leftism. Bankruptcy would kill the host for the parasites and would give power back to the States and local governments,

All the foreign born hispanics at my place (no idea if they are illegal) were dancing, literally, with joy. They know they are really close to getting free citizenship.

give it a couple of months.

It will become clear the economy is crumbling and that Obama is going to trash the Constitution.

First of all I don’t know very many at a personal level. Of the few I’ve interacted with, the mood I got from them was surprised relief. They thought their boy was going down.

He should have, and would have to any halfway competent or credible opponent.

I don’t know about remorse, but everywhere I went today, people did seem down, not happy at all. This was after seeing so many happy people at the poll the day before — half Obama voters, half Romney. People were cheerful in line to vote. Didn’t see anyone cheerful today. Interesting.

I have some neices/nephews the same way. Much of it is their indoctination at school or by the media. White males = bad. Gays/Blacks are now all “good” guys most of the time in TV/movies. No clue that it was (for the most part) white males that built the greatest country in the world which they can (for now) enjoy.

While I was in the bank today, closing out my accounts, I asked the banker what people were saying about the election. (This was quite late in the day). He said he hadn’t heard a single word today. Plenty of talk leading up to the election, but today an eerie silence.

He expected people would be talking about it more in a few days.

Me? I doubt it.

The time for to jaw-jaw is over.

I’ve been cheerful all day. Nothing pisses off the liberals more than a happy conservative.

I was out and about today and didn’t see any of the gleefulness that I saw after the 2008 election.

I lost a good friend over this election. She was elated her boy won and called me to gloat. I hung up on her. She lives in the Bay area of CA-has lost nearly all her her clients as they have moved or gone out of business. Yet she voted for Obama and voted to increase CA’s sales tax.

Morons-we have educated a bunch of morons.

My daughters didn’t vote for either, but their friends were Obama voters. It sounds as though their friends voted with their crotches and not their brains. (Gay marriage, planned parenthood funding.) Somehow it made sense to these women/men that spending $10 a month on birth control outweighed $200K+ in their share of the national debt.
