Anybody feeling a sense of regret among Obama voters

Posted on 11/07/2012 6:14:47 PM PST by BelleAl

I spent a great time talking to my sweet, but sometimes clueless daughters about the impact of this election. They tend to see themselves as more progressive - pro gay marriage, global warming, etc... (before you guys flame away, please know I did my best -- this is college academic influence on them). The sense I get from them and from my conversations today with friends and acquaintances, is that there seems to be a overwhelming atmosphere of regret or to be more graphic and explicit...an oh s__t, what did we just do attitude.

I don't see an in-your-face hurrah jubilation like 4 years ago (except among the DBM)...just a quiet, somber reaction. I wonder if you guys are sensing that and if so, is it registering in Washington? The dynamics are definitely different this time around and I hope it is seen as unsettling to those in power. I'm feeling an edge, a vibe of unrest, uncertainty.

They don’t like his wars but are too Stalinist to admit it openly. It would push his negatives up.

Obama promised to get the people responsible for the 9-11-2012 attacks. Bet it takes him longer since he doesn’t have Bush/Gitmo knowledge to help him in his quest this time.

Also, while Romney may have been reluctant to spend much of his administration investigating the previous one, there is nothing to stop Republicans from pushing on Libyan terrorism and Fast & Furious among other coverups.

I’m talking about the local governments in the northeast that are basically run by the union mob. Also NY and NJ always go dem in the Presidential election so the federal response is also on their hands at this point.

Not saying that other areas don’t also get the government they deserve...

>>One fellow was intimidating a young lady on Facebook who didn’t vote for Obama. They are scary in love with Obama.

My brothers and I are convinced Zero has a kind of demonic possession of some of these voters.

On FB today I see upbeat jubilation and complete ignorance as to what is coming upon us in just a few weeks.

Some of them are still in the mood to post insults regarding the tea party (liberals never really ARE happy unless they are feeling superior to someone)

One fellow catholic is even posting “Keep the Christ in Christmas” memes today after she voted for the most radical pro-child killing politician ever.

I expect when the reality of what has happened hits the nation come january, I will be reading things like “if only the republicans would just let Obama have his way....”

Because, as we all know, Obama is not at fault for anything.

I’ve seen nothing but gloating on Facebook from the few Obama loving friends I have. It’s disgusting.

My clueless sister-in-law even posted the following!

Victory for middle class...women....the economy...the military...the international community...minorities...gay rights and on and on

Said the same thing to my son today and last night when he was witnessing all the hate coming out of the people who won the election — directed at people who did not vote for Obama. They won and yet they were furious at anyone who didn’t follow their leader. Today in class they watched Hitler give an acceptance speech. He said the irony was lost on all of them. Including the professor.

I had a hard time communicating with anyone today. All I could think was half the people I see everyday voted for Obama. They are destroying the future of my children and this great country.

“One fellow was intimidating a young lady on Facebook who didn’t vote for Obama.”

Yes, I see and hear that stuff all the time on there. I was posting some stuff among friends and one of my 18yo daughter’s long-time friends posted some comment indicating she thought anyone who didn’t vote for 0 was racist (thought provoking comment, I must say/s) and she asked that we delete her. So I did.

My own 18yo daughter, whom we’ve been carting to the voting booth with us since she was born, DID NOT vote for 0.

Considering trade center one in the 1990s and again in 2001, one wonders if it is possible to shock them into learning.

Interesting thought. Even Obama didn’t seem confident near the end. I bet some assumed they could be cool and vote Obama and have the adults cancel out their stupidity. Then Obama won. And reality came crashing down on them. Only time will tell.
