haven’t seen anyone ask this yet, so I will: did the Ron Paul Revolution stay home last night?
Mitt Romney won 3 million votes less than McCain while Obama lost 10 million votes of his own from 2008.
Where did those 3 million McCain voters go?
The main part of why I believed Romney would win this time because I knew the 10 million Obama supporters would sit home…but never in my worst nightmares did I imagine McCain voters would sit home. I counted on them to show up and bring friends this time to boot Obama out.
The only thing I can think of is this:
* Ron Paul supporters sat the election out because Dr. Paul because the conflict regarding the convention and the other delegate issues
* Evangelicals went through with their threat to sit home because Romney is a member of the LDS Church
And these two groups thought allowing Obama to have a second term was worth sitting home.
Is that what happened?
I never thought that was a realistic possibility because I can’t imagine ever allowing the Left to not just maintain power but actually expand their reach…but that’s what happened last night.
Have you seen anyone crunching numbers to explain this today?
The Mainsream Media Ministry of Truth will say “oh, it was all about Hispanics!” but that is a red herring. That doesn’t explain dropping three million votes below McCain and a total of five million votes from Bush in 2004.
Ron Paul supporters seem to explain that first drop from Bush’s 2004 numbers, sitting out to the tune of 2 million when McCain ran in 2008…and then sitting out even more this time; perhaps it’s a combination of Ron Paul people and Evangelicals who sat home “to teach everyone a lesson”.
That’s an expensive lesson if this is right.
pretty well covers the candidate problem ~ but we also need to replenish the stock of voters available to vote Republican! The GOP-e thinks that job should be done by someone else someday, but not them. They simply want to control the candidate selection process.

That pretty much sums it up, with help from one or two counties in Virginia. The DEM voter registration and GOTV efforts here in Miami were shocking in their scope. You could tell that all of the enthusiasm here was with the dems just from being in line at the polls. And the dems scoured the vast suburbs of southwest Miami and found thousands of non-Cuban latinos to register. Not only is that why Obama got 63% of the vote in Miami-Dade but that’s also what ultimately knocked off David Rivera.
The Law of Effect shows us that we generally receive more of the behavior that is rewarded and we generally receive less of the behavior that is punished. How do we reward people for voting Republican? The Democrats reward their people with food stamps and social security disability and $50,000 checks for black pig farmers who don’t know the front from the back of a hog. How do we punish those who don’t vote Republican? The number of people going to work for the government has increased under Obama. The Democrats punish those who don’t vote Democrat with IRS audits and a refusal to hire them. They are belittled in the media. The Democrats understand and effectively utilize The Law of Effect. The Republican leadership looks at numbers while the Democrats outmaneuver them.
The top three employers in Fairfax County (2010) are the FC public schools (22,850), the USG (17,370), and the county government (11,184). There are 31,000 students enrolled in ESOL--an increase of a third from the year before. We had the ballot in Spainish and English in Fairfax County--the first time in history. Kerry won Fairfax County in 2004, the first time in over 40 years.
Now, about the demographics, if you don't get people registered who are reasonably aligned with Republican thinking, they are not going to vote Republican! The dead and injured must be replaced!
Easier said than done. Most people inherit their political party in much the same way they do with religion. Blacks still vote over 90% for the Dems regardless of the candidate's race. They have 14% unemployment and lousy schools, but they eschew their personal interests to remain members of the tribe.

Obama’s only advantage was that in the big blue states he needed, a lot larger number of Dim voters than GOPers could stay home (300K+ in Ohio) and still eck out a 50.1% win (Ohio again).
many 2008 Obama supporters were not AS inspired this time
but Mitt did not inspire a larger number of Independents or inspire that many Dims to shift, and often the stay-at-home dims only reduced O’s majority, not eliminating it
If you didn’t vote for Romney because he’s a Mormon, then you will receive the reward you so richly deserve. I didn’t realize that Jesus was running this year. This was a worldly election. We weren’t voting for the leader of our church. Take out any of your money. Do you see Jesus’ profile on it? “Render unto Caesar that which is Caesar’s.” I guess a lot of Christians were home watching football the Sunday that lesson was taught. And yes, I am an Evangelical Christian and I have tasted the bitterness of Mormon discrimination. But that tastes sweet compared to the vomit Obama has given us. To all you who stayed home and didn’t vote for Romney because he’s Mormon, well, “Bottoms up!” Enjoy the lesson Obama is about to give you because “Elections have consequences.”
I think we lost FL and VA too
There is also the aging demographic. Republicans appeal to older folk, while Democrats are rapidly locking up the entire youth vote. So many people I saw come yesterday to vote for Romney will not be alive in ‘16. And, it may not be 3M, but I would venture that a fair number of McCain voters are no longer with us.
I can tell you what is being said - many states didn’t even count any of the write ins or Johnson votes because of state differences in rules - I can tell you where one was - Gary Johnson was not on the ballot in Oklahoma nor did they allow write ins.
It is not so much that the children are going to be mostly minorities; it is that their teachers and the media that influences them are going to continue to be almost entirely from the left. This is largely because of that old saying, “Those who can do and those who can't teach.” There should be a similar saying for entertainers. Those who can't tend to have left wing leanings because they want those who can to support them.
We are witnessing the decline of our nation. It is surprising to me that our fall is coming so quickly after reaching our pinnacle. As a young person I thought that progress and technology would cause the living standards of future generations to continually get better. But our system is breaking down. We have real troubles coming. At least the value of the investment that I have made in guns, ammo, reloading equipment and supplies is increasing greatly.
Remember it wasn’t 3m that tipped the balance, it was far less in key swing states so those evangelicals that stayed home, like some freepers, because of the LDS connection could have tipped the balance more than we would like to admit.

The vast majority of the 40 million immigrants in this country are classified as minorities. 87% of the 1.2 million legal immigrants we take in are classified as minorities. Agree that the education system perpetuates and inculcates liberalism, but minorities are much more fertile ground for such approaches.
One of these is a LIE. Palin was offered a prime time spoke and declined saying she had other plans in AK.
And yet I see Freepers advocating the same foolish pathways taken by the CA GOP into irrelevancy.
West’s combative attitude and mouth got him fired more than any thing. Another self-inflicted wound like Akin, Mourdock and Allen in VA.
Consider the Senate races.
How coincidental that with the exception of Ensign in Nevada (not really a battleground state) all (R) senators in Battlegrounds (VA, FL, OH, WI) went down even as they did in states carried handily by Romney (IN, MO, ND, MT)? In fact we almost knew the Senate seat loss before we knew the Presidential outcome.
What about those touch screen shennanigans reported as switches from Romney to Obama?
Each of the battlegrounds VA, FL, OH, WI) are solid (R) -- both chambers and the Gov. Most went that way in 2010. (R)'s won down ticket House races.
What I want to know from tech savvy types is this: how does someone hack a voting machine, how does one detect it?
Can some well placed kid hanging around on a cell phone communicating to an embedded chip in the machine watch voters and time his "click" with that of the voter -- regardless how he intended to vote? Is this possible?
In these highly (R) states, will an investigation be launched by their SOSs and Atty Generals to determine what happened?
Yep, Lungren, Mack, and Bilbray went down to defeat this year. Soon the Dems will take all the Congressional seats in CA. Every Rep race is competitive while many of the Dems run unopposed. CA is fast becoming a one party state dominated by the Dems.
