Did republicans equal 2008 turnout, or did Romney depress the vote?

It’s demographics. No matter how well of a candidate and campaign Rs run in national elections, they will lose from this point on.

Early voting and media manipulation sure didn’t help. I also think very long ballots might play a role.

I notice that one of my former Union neighbors who lives in Florida chose this week for his vacation in Michigan. He owns a house in both states.

Has anyone seen a list of ‘votes cast’ vs ‘number of legal ballots’ per state?

If the ‘votes cast’/’legal ballots’ is very high then we know this was won by fraud.

If about 60,000 ‘legal ballots’ per state retail back to vacant lots or gravestones then this was won by fraud.

And if this was indeed won by fraud, then America has suffered a coup.

Short term, the left controls the means of propaganda. They covered for Obama's weaknesses and spread a false narrative about Romney

Long term, the left controls academia so they often control how "educated" people evaluate things and make decisions.

The Republican establishment, yet again, put forward a flawed candidate who was not willing to do what he needed to do to win. They executed a campaign that didn't clearly define the candidate and and his program. They failed to take the fight to their opponent and went into a shell when Sandy hit - the same way McCain did when the financial crisis hit and he "suspended" his campaign. How much of this was Romney and how much of it was the people who ran the campaign we don't know.

Nothing makes sense anymore. So much discontentment and anger. Unemployment and debt and divisiveness. I really thought citizens were speaking with their votes, and we were going to put our country back on track. The momentum was there. I am so stunned. Cynicism is setting in and I am throwing up my hands. All I have to look forward to is that Benghazi will lead to his downfall but then, these robotic short attention span voters have to care first. I’m just babbling now but honestly, I am do stunned.

may I leave you with the one great thing that HAS come out of this election as I go to work:

Bama WILL ABSOLUTELY BE GONE in a few years, and we can start now to undo what he has put in place.

Ultimately, we still had a milquetoast candidate. The GOP leadership loves moderate, and undermined Conservatives, so we have to settle for a mediocre candidate.

Polling: Have we ever considered that the pollsters Rasmussen etc) who for weeks have shown Romney up 3 to6 points are being paid to do so by the Dems. We cannot ever trust Pollsters.

We need to get the GOP Leadership completely replaced. Not just the politicians, but the guys in the smokey back rooms who do not run for office.

Our Last free election was in 2008, it’s over now, God has turned his back on America. The republican leadership are New World Order big government fascists.

We can sit and over-analyze this for weeks, but the bottom line is that the “free stuff” crowd has spoken. We are in the midst of changing demographics that will lead us leftward into 3rd-world status, which will only be exacerbated with “immigration reform”. The constitution is an afterthought. It's all about “what can the government do for me?” I don't see us having a Republican president, let alone a Conservative president for a while if ever. The paradigm shift in the American psyche is happening right before our eyes and it isn't good.

I am sick about the potential damage to the Supreme Court, but less concerned about other aspects of 4 more years of this clown. After all, we still have the house to put up (limited) resistance.

Romney was “the” candidate according to the establishment. He was the man who would win it all. In fact, he was the perfect foil for Obama. Richie Rich and the father of ObamaCare. Add in the 3+ months of non-stop Obama negative adds w/no Romney response and you had the makings of one lousy campaign.

Yes, he did a great job in the first debate, and he did have the momentum heading into October. But Sandy and the fat man from NJ stopped him in his tracks, and playing safe while running out the clock is always a losers game.

So where does this leave the Conservative movement? Before you know it 2014 will be here and another slew of Democrat Senators will give us an opportunity to put away Harry Reid for good. And while ACA is here to stay (thank you John Roberts - enemy of liberty and freedom), come 2016 we have some excellent Governors who can lead us from the mess that will surely be the US. We won’t have to settle for another Romney (a.k.a. fat man) next go round.

Time to recoup, lick our wounds and get ready for the next fight. Oh, and while we are at it can we PLEASE stop nominating idiots like Todd Akin?

Just my 2-cents.

When democratic operative George Stephanopolous asked Romney in the Republican debate about “contraceptives” he was surprised and caught off guard...what he didn’t realize was it was game, set and match...the Obama campaign had found the one sure way to lock up the Millennials that would lead to victory...baring any huge missteps and with proper support from a compliant media it was keep your fingers crossed to the finish...

I think its very possible that after all the fraud is canceled out that Romney may have won that popular vote. Even so, the electoral trend is very depressing. I remember when the entire West was reliably Red. Those days are going forever. CA going Blue is very hard to overcome. It does not bode well that states like NH, CO, NV, and even VA are now blue.

You're focusing on the wrong thing here, dude. My research indicates that Barack Obama got about 3 million fewer votes in 2012 (59 million) than George Bush got in 2004 (62 million).

Barack Obama didn't win because the Democrats turned out more voters. He won because Romney didn't have nearly the support he needed to win. I can almost guarantee you that nobody who voted for Bush in 2004 voted for Obama in 2012. But a lot of them simply stayed home.

I think Romney -- even admittedly a liberal -- would have been a very effective president because he's an effective executive. He was not, however, a candidate who generated a lot of enthusiasm.
