The Illinois Republican party claims early and absentee voting has precipitously fallen since the 2008 presidential election.

According to the numbers, at this point in 2008, there were 260,376 early voters and 304,290 absentee voters. Now, the party maintains, there are 195,064 early voters and 46,232 absentee voters. That's a loss of 57 percent of voters, since the last election.

That’s great news, hopefully downstate and collar counties will turn out massively for Mitt Romney and we’ll hold most of the Congressional seat pickups, Schilling, Walsh, Kinzinger, and Tim Johnson’s seat 13th.

The cancerous blue spot in the middle of Texas that is Austin is reporting the early voting is down from ‘08. Hope this is the same for the nation. Hussein just doesn’t have the uniqueness he had four years ago.

Though I live in a fairly Republican area of the City I see almost NO yard signs or bumper stickers in the neighborhood which is filled with city workers, cops, firemen and teachers.

Wouldn’t that also mean that the ‘city vote’ would be down elsewhere, like Philly? This could be a sign of things to come for Romney especially in PA.

Great news on Chicargo, but caution must be maintained because even with a massive decrease in early/absentee voting, 150% of registered voters may still windup voting.

Its not a swing state so there is no big turnout machine. What makes Ohio problematic is that the turnout machine Obama has there will make up for the lack of enthusiasm of his voters.

But there is no strong turnout machine in states like PA or MN or MI or WI. It could leave us with the situation where less GOP leaning states outperform Ohio for the simple reason that Obama’s campaign failed to arrange to drag unenthusiastic people to the polls as they made sure to do in Ohio.

“But there is no strong turnout machine in states like PA or MN or MI or WI.”
Indeed. Hussain is recruiting for Democraps from here to go to WI, with the promise of tickets to his shin dig at McCormick.
Which makes me ask: have they run out of Democraps in WI? Or perhaps the unions are dragging their feet, revenge (where did we hear that recently? LOL) for Hussain treating WI like fly over country during the recall? And at this late date, he still has openings for the gala for his second coming, in a venue 1/20 of his first? Sounds like an enthusiasm gap.

Btw, suburban Cook surpassed its 2008 numbers by more than several thousand. I don’t think that they all have fallen in love with Rahm’s Boss.

I think Romney played his hand well in PA, letting the ground workers work silently, so Hussain didn’t have the time to respond and start ravaging PA. He was was smart in picking Morrisville for his stop: it’s in the midst of the Philadelphia surburbs (sort of like stopping in Mt. Prospect) and pointed across the border into the Democrap Corridor in NJ-given that NJ still is recovering after Sandy and Hussain is nowhere to be seen after the photo-op, it will be interesting to see how much they take that out of the Campaigner-in-Chief’s hide.

Hopefully we will do as well in IL with the silent majority as it is raising its voice in PA.

The city vote in Cleveland does appear to be down.

I live near Chicago, and I think that Illinois is a swing state. In 2010, IL elected a new GOP U.S. senator, treasurer, and comptroller, to replace retiring Democrats. The majority of Illinois’ U.S. reps. are Republicans. In 2010, Republicans gained seats in the IL Senate & House.
