Rain on election day helps Republicans, who tend to be more motivated. This election will be all about turn out and Obama supporters are much, much less motivated than four years ago and Romney voters much, much more motivated than four years ago.

In part, because Obama was much, much worse than even I feared he would be.

I go to work each day whether it rains or not. Why would one not vote because it is raining?

Do you see what I mean? Do you see what I mean? It's just that kind of thinking that turns people into Republicans.

Can't have that. That's why we have motor-voter, EZ-voting, early voting, and ACORN.

Hello low-income and student Obama supporters! This is God. Look outside — it’s cold and gray and rainy. Just turn on the tube, fire up a dooby, and relax. No need to strain yourself to go out and vote; it’s not like you have to get up anyway to go to work or anything.

Hello, liberal academics and upper-level government workers. This is God. Don’t you think you should go right home after work? Remember, if you leave by the usual time (about 3:30), you can beat the rubes in the dreaded private sector out onto the road, and you know how much worse the traffic is when it rains. No need to stop to vote — you’ve already done your part by buying that Prius, and with all that delicate electrical equipment, doesn’t it act up when you leave it in a rainy parking lot?

Hello, union brothers. This is God. Are you really going to stand out in the rain holding signs to try to get that bum re-elected? I know you’re getting paid to do it, but still, are you freaking kidding me? Hey, I know — call in sick; it’s not like you haven’t done it before because of the weather. Put on a game, crack open a beer, and let that Muzzie punk take care of himself.

I've never understood how the weather can impact election turnout. I've been working for 32 years and northeasters, snowstorms, cold snaps and driving rainstorms have never been a reason not to come to work. Why would this then become a reason not to vote?

Also, there is always this talk of "staying home" on election day. Staying home? Unless you are a housewife (nothing wrong with that), what do you mean by "staying home". I have always voted on the way to work or on the way home from work.
