President Barack Obama and former Governor Mitt Romney continue to run a close race for Ohio's prized 18 electoral votes. In the race for U.S. Senate, likely voters currently give incumbent Senator Sherrod Brown a 49 to 44 edge over Ohio Treasurer Josh Mandel.

These findings are based on the latest Ohio Poll, conducted by the Institute for Policy Research at the University of Cincinnati. The Ohio Poll is sponsored by the University of Cincinnati. The Poll was conducted with Ohio likely voters from October 25 to October 30, 2012.

Okay this poll says they interviewed 1182 likely voters. But based on the numbers, it was 487 D, 480 R and 124 I. So there's some gap because that only adds up to 1091. And amazingly it has Obama up 46-32 with Independents!

This is the one that had it tied 49-49 last week.

The Independent numbers sure do seem phony.

After what Christie did today, I expect 0 to take lead tomorrow. But like all 0bummer bounces, it won’t last. Storm coverage is over today, campaign resumes tomorrow.

Do you really think the voter model in Ohio is comprised of 10% Independents?? Serious?

Romney leads with I nationwide by anywhere from 10-20% but yet in Ohio he’s down by 12? And yet even with the model, Obama can’t crack 50% and the poll is within 2? If I was looking at this from a Dem perspective, I’d be nervous as hell.

Christie was sickening...he looked weak and star struck over Obama. Only thing missing was the presidential knee pads. Really pathetic and the thing is, it was unnecessary.

paging Ann Coulter...paging Ann Coulter...Ms. Coulter pick up the white courtesy phone...

A poll from a leftist university. I”m sure it has oodles of credibility. It probably polled the Marxist Che club at the Womyn’s center.

Christie also gave a terrible speech at the convention, talking mostly about himself.

Amen on Christie! I’ve always thought he was a bag of wind. And Ann Coulter loves him. Wonder what she thinks of him today.

And Romney saying he’d get rid of FEMA is coming back to haunt him, too. I’ve got a sick feeling in my stomach about this.

And with Halperin saying this morning that Romney is winning Independents in Ohio-this poll would probably have Mitt up by 7-8% if they did an accurate sampling model and gave Romney the accurate lead with Independent voters.

Seriously?

whose being the idiot here? I’m thinking the poster that is suddenly weak-knee’d over an outlier poll that shows Obama with a double-digit lead among independents. Yea right.
Lest you forget, we stupid idiot Ohioans booted out the dems in 2010 and installed Kasich as governor. Why would you think the Ohio electorate now has suddenly turned blue?

"I’m beginning to despise OH....freakin IDIOTS!!"

First of all being a life long Ohioan I feel I can speak on Behalf of Ohioans.... so I have two words for you from all of us. "You" and "F**K" (You can work out the order for yourself)

Second the reason Ohio is so screwed up is because the elitist RNC foisted RINO Governor Taft on us. And that my friends is one of the main reason Obama is in office today. And Taft's term in office turned many long time Republicans against the party. (Putting RINO's in office has consequences.) Remember he threatened vetoes of Pro Gun legislation and the Democrat who replaced him signed Concealed Carry into law. Taft was corrupt AND he was a liberal but the RNC made sure he got elected in Ohio and now we are paying the price.

Maybe its something to remember when everyone is Rah Rahing the latest RINO the RNC decides is going to be the nominee.

hmmm,
just a theory but do you think that’s a misprint in the story and that lead among independents is actually supposed to read dependents?
