MSNBC: Nobody Needs Your Hurricane Donations Mitt Romney
Townhall ^ | 10/31/2012 | Katie Pavlich

Yesterday Mitt Romney turned a previously scheduled campaign event in Ohio into a hurricane relief event. Romney asked supporters to bring canned goods and other supplies to help storm victims recover on the East Coast. He only spoke for ten minutes at the event and quickly jumped in to help load supplies. His campaign bus has been accepting hurricane relief donations since Monday in Northern Virginia. Sounds like a great idea right? Not according to MSNBC.

Reporters and anchors at the far-left TV outlet were appalled at Romney's efforts to give back to the community, after all, his charity and generosity doesn't fit with their "Romney is an evil rich guy who doesn't care about regular people" narrative.

Are these people sick? And yes you heard them correctly, they are actually criticizing Romney for trying to help people.

With all due respect to the Red Cross, they do amazing work, but they are also a large bureaucracy set up like the federal government. Andrea Mitchell made the point in the first video that Romney was collecting things "the Red Cross doesn't need" and that the Red Cross wants blood and money (which by the way, people like Mitt Romney are capable of donating large sums of money to organizations like the Red Cross because they are personally wealthy, something MSNBC has continually demonized).

“So let me get this straight...
Red Cross cannot accept canned goods, or sort them or transport them or distribute them to the people who are hungry in the storm’s wake?”

That’s a great question. So exactly how do the donations get to the people in need, if the Red Cross doesn’t have the ability to distribute goods? Do they just go hand out money, when there all the stores are wiped out and no way to buy any food? A relief organization that doesn’t have the infrastructure to provide relief — their excuse doesn’t make any sense.

Lots of churches and the SA would be so happy to get all of that food and they would put it to good use. A freeper on another thread was just saying that she was heavily impacted by Sandy and a good friend gave her some canned food that she was extremely grateful for it.

Pretty nice skim available when you get cash donations, but nothing to skim when it’s a can of beans.

Of course the Red Cross doesn’t want canned goods. That doesn’t put money in their pockets.

I haven’t donated to Red Cross since they were charging rescuers for cups of coffee in the Loma Prieta earthquake in ‘89. That was after I and millions of others donated money to make sure coffee(help)was available and free.

I saw Romney advertise the number for cash donations to the Red Cross on a TV screen. I did not see him claim the food donations were for the Red Cross. Where did you see that?

I would say that information is dubious, at best. Is it not possible he gave Red Cross’s text info, as he did, on a huge TV screen for cash donations, yet planned to send the food donations elsewhere?

Here is the story at "The Hill." No mention of the Red Cross.

At the back of the auditorium, campaign staff and volunteers at long folding tables collected toiletries, canned goods and bottled water that Romney said would be shipped to New Jersey.

In what world is that reply acceptable?

I don’t find that reply particularly unacceptable, but the mods do, so it has been removed. Much worse has been said here, believe me. As far as the story by MSNBC, I do not trust their supposition that Romney intended to ship the supplies to “the Red Cross.”

Maybe you should reconsider what is and is not acceptable. There is absolutely no reason for you to be rude to me. I did not write the story. I did not say the red cross did not want the canned goods. The red cross said it. And if you find it acceptable to tell a woman to sthu...you live in a different world than I.

You are RIGHT on all accounts, and don’t be sorry for Obama comment, I share it!!!

I can find Scripture were good people in the Bible celebrated/ Praised God for the demise of such evil men...speaking of Obama

For full disclosure I also include Clinton`s Kerry`s and Gore`s etc in that same club

Yes I would give God the Glory if any or all of them were saved, but short of that??? Yes I have prayed for them on occasion, but not to lead anybody, that`s for sure

The Democrat Party platform is simply ANTI CHRISTIAN
