Reading through this thread I am astounded by some of the comments... What in the world is with people tonight? I came here to catch up on what’s going on and all I see are childish remarks and silly arguments!
Used to be that when one went on any of the weather threads here at FR there were many, many educational comments - ESPECIALLY when it was a storm of this magnitude. This is not a joke - particularly to those who are in the path of the storm, or have loved ones and friends who are. I’m saddened by some of the comments on this thread... very disappointed, really.
Thanks guys. It seems like these threads are split between moronic blasphemers solemnly declaring that the storm is divine vengeance and moronic clowns making jokes about a storm that will kill people and destroy homes. The assholery is gale force on a site that used to be filled with thinking Christians.

No only saltwater surges higher than 24 inches. So no large storm surges in the NY area.
Maybe the Earth is developing an Eye like Jupiter, and carefully placing it exactly where it belongs. :-)
I am daydreaming that upstate NY gets to vote and voting is sparse in NYC so we can have a Romney win. I know, don’t burst my balloon. It’s the only silver lining I have found for FrankenStorm. And it made me smile to think of it.
