Current TV, the liberal cable news channel started by former Vice President Al Gore, has hired JP Morgan and The Raine Group to assess strategic options that may include a sale or strategic partnership with another media company, according to a person with knowledge of the operation.
The channel, founded in 2005 by Gore and businessman Joel Hyatt, is also seeking new funding and talking with venture capitalists and other parties, the person said on condition of anonymity because the talks were private.
"Current has been approached many times by media companies interested in acquiring our company," Hyatt said in a statement provided by the company.
"This year alone, we have had three inquiries. As a consequence, we thought it might be useful to engage expertise to help us evaluate our strategic options."

“seeking new funding and talking with venture capitalists”
Think he will contact Bain Capital? LOL
Algore was really counting on that “cap ‘n trade” money.
Might be time for a good Conservative Channel? There would be poetic justice in it...
“The Raine Group”...hmmmm...of Franklin-”Freddie Mac”- Raine fame, perchance?
(or, was it Fannie Mae fame? It’s getting hard to keep all the thugs and thieves straight.)
“This year alone, we have had three inquiries.”
That by you is “approached many times” ??
What a silly man.
Never happen. It’s worthless.
This should really start to worry Big Bird. If liberals really can't make it in the big leagues, Big Bird is going to have to be the next Shamwow spokesman.
"You don't know what it's like out there! I've *worked* in the private sector. They expect *results*".

...founded in 2005 by Gore and businessman Joel Hyatt, is also seeking new funding and talking with venture capitalists and other parties...They didn't build that!
Gore could sweeten the deal by guaranteeing that all THREE of their viewers will remain. Of course, he wouldn’t have to tell the buyers that the three are the cameraman, lighting guy and producer.
I'm not sure that it's accurate to call him a slip and fall lawyer. In any case, this lecture he gave at the Stanford Graduate School of Business is actually very interesting and addresses the fundamental issues in entrepreneurship better than 99% of other business school speakers I have heard.
"The (liberal) company eventually changed its name from AIR America Radio to AIR America Media and lastly to just AIR America, an effort to establish itself as a (liberal) broadcaster on multiple media sources including television and the Internet, not merely relegated to just radio.
"On Jan. 21, 2010 (the liberal) AIR America Radio went off the air citing 'difficulties with the economic environment' and filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy....and liquidated itself".
Re: Gore's floundering (liberal) "Current TV Network".....isn't the definition of insanity making the same mistake twice and expecting a different outcome the second time?

I'm sure his former commercials were very annoying and he may have been justly defeated when he ran for election. But based a comparison with the thousands of other people I have heard talking about business and entrepreneurship, when it comes to business he is not a moron. And this can also be determined by the fact that he created and built up a unique business from scratch and sold it for millions of dollars.
