Referees to throw pink flags in Miami Dolphins-N.Y. Jets game
NFL ^ | October 24, 2012

Gloves and shoelaces won't be the only pink items on the gridiron this week as the NFL continues its recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Referees working Sunday's game between the Miami Dolphins and New York Jets at MetLife Stadium will call penalties by throwing pink flags. The move to ditch yellow and go pink was the brainchild of a fifth-grader, who suggested the idea in a letter to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell.

Yeah, it’s terrible to think about women’s breasts.

Got Milk?

...and in the meanwhile nobody pays any attention to prostate cancer, pancreatic cancer, liver cancer, testicular cancer, ovarian cancer, etc., etc., etc. The breast people sure know how to take over the movement and because it’s a women’s issue everybody is scared to death to not jump on the bandwagon. Scrap the NFL pink and just have the NFL donate a portion of each ticket to cancer research in general. That would do far more money-wise.

Have any of the big medical “charities” ever declared victory over their disease and closed up? Both our questions have the same answer.

Luckily Komen is starting to annoy people, I think we’ve got at most 5 more years of the pink parade in October.

Has any one person in the NFL taken credit for all this pink crap. If so would someone give me his name and E-mail address as I would like to express my opinion concerning this to them.

I found this from 2007 and it was for one weekend. Lifetime-TV seems to be a partner.

The National Football League will support October’s National Breast Cancer Awareness Month with national public service announcements, special pregame ceremonies and team community outreach. The NFL has designated the weekend of October 7-8 as NFL Breast Cancer Awareness Weekend.

You tune in to the NFL and they want to remind you to think only about women’s breasts.

No, they don't want people to think about women's breasts. They want people to be aware of the fact that breast cancer is one of the leading causes of death among women.

It is Hegelian dialectics....it is extremely sick to group and isolate. Why not unite ALL cancer victims where you don’t emphasize the prostrate or breasts? Because the sexualization of our children is essential to destruction of morality and innocence. Also, this is forcing males to a subtle way to think that they are less important than females. Divide and conquer. Feminism is all about pitting men against women-—unlike prior to the 60’s women were seen as complementary.

Radical egalitarianism has to erase the nature of women and the nature of man.....to reduce people into manageable zombies devoid of mother and father—daycares and public schools shape their Marxist worldview—that eliminates God and any love and loyalty to biological relationships.

It is all for conditioning the males out of their manly nature. True Males are a threat to a totalitarian government which wants group thinkers who ponder on the feminine. They loathe the individual white/black male thinker-—they want mass conformity and are conditioning your emotions to “feel”—making you into the feminine. They want no intellectual activity-—all emotions. Mass conformity is effective only with people who have little intellect and decide everything by emotions (like most females).

Its a football game: It should be about blood, boogers, sweat and swearing.

They want people to be aware of the fact that breast cancer is one of the leading causes of death among women.

They should be far more concerned about heart disease...

...you REALLY don't want to be the center on prostate cancer awareness day!

If they really cared about breast cancer, they'd can this PR crap, and tell the truth about the pill --that its use increases a woman's chance of developing breast cancer by 40%.

But PR is more important than the truth.

Actually what they want is the good PR of being visibly associated with the most popular disease “charity” of the day. Same reason everything else turns pink in October. PR is worth a lot of money.

Did you notice Obama’s Pink bracelet prop during the debate the other night?

I know the cause. But I think this is going to far. A nice pink ribbon on a helmet or a shirtsleeve does the same thing , triggers the thought for the cause . Maybe some kid will next suggest pink lights on police cars. Enough is enough .

Oh brother! Honestly, I am getting sick of this crap. I actually tracked the “breast cancer awareness” exposure and found that slightly over half of the days in 2010 there was some kind of pink promotion being pushed.

I have empathy for individuals that suffer breast cancer, or any serious illness. However, I am sick of being pounded over the head ALL THE DANG TIME!

The mortality rate from breast cancer is about 1/5th the mortality rate caused by prostrate cancer.

The reality is that the “pink brigade” is nothing more than a bunch of organization profiting from the gullible that want to “feel” good by walking a few miles. I’d wager that a very low percentage of the overall take goes anywhere near medical facilities.

I give them credit tho, they sure picked the right market to target.

I agree with you..... when I was young I hated pink, never wore pink. Never dressed my daughters in pink.

SO why is it that every woman is supposed to wear pink?

I hate pink. I do not want to watch pink-dressed football players. I will listen to the games on radio.... a non-pink radio!
