Because everyone had such a great time at the last shoot we are anxious for the next one.
The date for the 8th Annual TCMS shoot will be June 8th, 2013 and will be held at Dietz Gun Shop and Shooting Range, in New Braunfels, TX. Providing we get the OK from Mr. Dietz I will call him this week to discuss our coming to the range.
Staying in the Pelican Bay cottages this year was a stroke of genius, so we will again be staying in cottages. The cottage pick for this shoot is the Cypress Creek Cottages, in Wimberley, TX. There are only twelve cottages at this place, and as of this writing 7 of them have been reserved. NOTE: They require full payment at the time the reservations are made. Wimberley also has some very nice hotels in the area in the event all the cottages get rented.
Making it a three & a half day weekend will be the plans for many of us, that way we can enjoy the area and have lots of porch time.
The Friday night dinner & Saturday breakfast places have not yet been decided. There is still plenty of time to figure out those details. Saturday after the shoot lunch will be provided by our own chef ~ cpdiii (Thanks Charlie!). Suggestions for the Saturday night meal are more than welcome.
My thanks to mylife, penelopesire, LuvW, BuckeyeTexan and NYTexan for their help in getting these plans going.
I know folks who shoot at Lone Star and they have nothing but good things to say about the range!!
Matt Billingsley who started the place was tragically killed in an accident out there last year while operating heavy equipment. He had just been married and his wife is trying to stick it out and continue what he started.
Good call on going to Lone Star.
Nobody likes tannerite!
Yeah, but you were...Tardy! ;)
It looks like a decent place, and the person I talked to on the phone (John) was very helpful. The only negative thing I can say about the place is they suck at returning email. ;-)
And Gus McCrae don’t tolerate no dawdling service. LOL
LOL! Nice catch, BB!
Not to mention that Lockhart is a BBQ Mecca: Let me list.

Holy cow!
Chisholm Trail has the best prices in Texas!
Yeah, that’s really my favorite place down there. By far the best bang for the buck. And the peach cobbler is very very good!!!
Hey, I might actually get to go to this one!! I think I can get to Lone Star in about 45 mins. But I’ve never been there.
WOOT!!!
Well, I hope you do make it.
We always have a blast.
Only 13 hours away, for us.
Who knows...?
Thanks for everything, Mom. You really know how to wrangle them dogies! You’re the backbone of the Shoot. It’s great that you take no rudeness and are willing to move venues if someone gives you guff.
I am so looking forward to seeing everyone again.
That would be awesome.
Black’s is gooood!
Thanks for the list dave. In the event there is a burn ban, we now have a plan B.
And there is always Luling City Market just down the road. They don’t have a web site, but you get the idea from this TX monthly post.

You can’t go wrong with any of these places.
Kreuz (pronounced Krite’s) is the most expensive if I remember correctly.
But O may veto the final bill, since it also prohibits transferring GitMo detainees from being moved to the US.
To paraphrase Woodrow F. Call, "I hate rude behavior in a person, I won't tolerate it"
Being rude to Mrs. Mom can be hazardous to your health and financial well being. :)
I am looking forward to June 8th! charlie
I wouldn't mess with her and I'm kinfolks.
Looks good! And no caliber restrictions. The twins will be pleased.

Wow! Thank you. I believe that the blue cottage is ours. It looks really nice. Great pix!
Woohoo!! Looks just dandy!
That looks great and relaxing.
Thank your friend.
Awesomeness, BB! Thank your friend for getting these great shots!
I’m ready NOW!!! :)

Back yard
Thanks for the pics

Damn, brother. I think it would be worth stretching however hard I had to, if I could get a crack at shooting one of your fine rifles. Man, those look sweet.
Honestly, nothing would be better than getting to meet a bunch of my fellow Texas Freeps in person. That would be the real treat.
Me and Mommy are putting some beans back into the business in early 2013, so finances should have improved enough for me to afford the hike by June. I’m honestly going to give it the old college try this year. Thanks for the reminder! (and the tease!)
The Henry in .45 Long Colt has the recoil of a .22.
I’m thinking the 45.70 GOV might be a little stouter!
;<)
Hope to see you there.
I might just get me an old pickle jar and start throwing my loose change in there to make sure :-) I'll bring my .40 S&W and anything else I can scrounge up by then.
Speaking of which, have you seen this? Kel-Tec KSG Bullpup Pump-Action 12 Gauge Shotgun UPDATE! - Gunblast.com - YouTube
Drool....
I am so looking forward to meeting you. I do hope and pray that you and your beautiful family can make it.
Looks like it will rattle yer teeth!

Ouch!
Same here, Lady. I've got to hustle to make it happen by next June, but I think we're going to have a better year than last. I'm feeling confident we'll make it this time around.
My next project is a kit to convert a Daisy Red-Ryder BB gun to .50BMG.
;<)
Looks that way, but users report that the recoil isn't bad at all. Has something to do with the bullpup design, from what I recall. My wife already wants one for her birthday next summer.
Hee hee... You'd get a million hits on YouTube.
Thumbs up, beaming smile, and staying hopeful.
All I did was b*tch about June instead of November.

I was planning on attending this year thinking it was in September. Rut roh!
About 6 months to go
Saw this over on PJ Media and thought of the TCMS :-)

That’s only the ones they KNOW about! ;-)
It must be true...”it’s on the internet”
I like that picture.
Well O didn’t veto the bill, so the chance of being umemployed have gone up quite a bit. Depends on what happens before March 1, when the Sequesration cutting must begin, if they are to have a snowball’s chance in hell of making the cuts. They’ve (all 3 departments of the DoD) already stopped issuing contracts for major maintenance for the last half of the fiscal year, April through September.
The Tollway is 80MPH around the east side of Austin. But the part the goes to Lockhart is 85 MPH. A couple of weeks ago, La Gata and I were in San Antonio, out by Randolph AFB, and decided to explore the tollway.
Woo FReeping Hoo. 85 mph, and being passed, but light traffic.
By the time of the shoot, we’ll probably be declared an illegal armed assembly, and be raided. I pity the poor BATFE bastids who draw that duty.
That declaration would likely be made in one of the lesser states.
I rather imagine we'd get some assistance in the form of "observers" here in the event of enforcement.
Any word from our recon team?
Aren’t they away scouting central Texas this weekend?
