Democratic lawmakers and activists nationwide are angry about a crop of billboard signs posted in early October in the Cleveland and Milwaukee areas that warn of stiff penalties for voter fraud.
The roughly 33 signs warn that "Voter Fraud is a Felony" punishable by up to 3-1/2 years in prison and a $10,000 fine, wording flanked by a large picture of a judge's gavel.
The signs will be up through the November 6 election day in the Cleveland and Milwaukee areas and were paid for by an anonymous "Family Foundation," according to a spokesman for Clear Channel Outdoor, which owns the billboards and placed the signs.
Legal and labor activists and community members said the signs deliberately target and seek to intimidate blacks and Hispanics, other minorities and the poor - as well as ex-convicts - groups key to Democrats' campaign voter drives ahead of the vote.
"The billboards create a chilling effect," said Marcia Johnson-Blanco, a co-director at the Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights, an advocacy group that asked Clear Channel Outdoor to remove the signs.
"It certainly leads to an atmosphere where some will think twice about voting," Johnson-Blanco said, adding Clear Channel Outdoor has not responded to the group's request.
Some of the signs were placed in white, although relatively poor, neighborhoods of Cleveland and Lorain, roughly 30 miles (48km) west.

I've always found this strange. Why would any legal voter be put off by these signs? Its clear that Democrats really do think that reminding people of the law might disuade some of their voters. Its pathethic. I think at every polling place we should have a nice clear sign pointing out voting requirements as well as an id check. There is no excuse for not wanting to do basic verfication and not wanting to disuade illegal voters.

Sir, please cease rational thought and begin chanting as political correctness apparently demands.

It might make voters who are being used as puppets not want to comply with such schemes.

...right up there in a hyphenated nutshell.Yeah, the rats are always courting somethingelse-Americans because somethingelse-Americans are clearly not regular Americans. Is it any wonder they join Ubama and the rats in wanting to "fundamentally change" the nation they all hate? These billboards are a great idea, and I hope the idea spreads across the country, especially in the concentrated Democrat parasite nests ("cities").

Hopefully a chilling effect to those who would participate in voter fraud. No honest person need worry about these signs.

Signs should go up at every polling place, on tv, and internet. Let them know what they're risking for their favorite Democrat.

"It certainly leads to an atmosphere where some will think twice about voting" I'm sure Ms. Marcia Johnson-Blanco was simply misquoted and she actually said "It certainly leads to an atmosphere where some will think about not voting twice." It's a simple juxtaposition by the reporter. The misunderstanding will be straightened out forthwith.

I just had a thought. Paper the areas known to have fraud problems with flyers and have people go on radio talking about this type of thing.
If you commit fraud it IS a crime and tell what the penalty is.

Libs on FB were complaining about this so I posted several articles about how dems buy votes with cash and cigarettes.

The billboards create a chilling effect," said Marcia Johnson-Blanco, a co-director at the Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights, an advocacy group .. I appreciate anything that has at "chilling effect" on anyone complementing a crime. A 'chilling effect' is why we have laws and punishment for violating those laws.

Isn't it "RACIST" for these "legal and labor activists" to say that only the "blacks and Hispanics, other minorities and the poor" are the only ones committing voter fraud?
I see these billboards as one of those "if the shoe fits" deals. JMO.

Probably for the same reason the dems hate seeing The Ten Commandments posted anywhere- it is a list of everything they are doing wrong and being reminded they will be judged by it.

“It certainly leads to an atmosphere where some will think twice about voting”
Actually it should read: “It certainly leads to an atmosphere where some will think twice about voting TWICE.”
or
“It certainly leads to an atmosphere where some will think twice about voting ILLEGALLY.”
