Mitt Romney does not intend to pursue legislation to restrict abortion if elected president, the Republican nominee told the Des Moines Register’s editorial board on Tuesday, setting off a late-night skirmish over the controversial social issue.

“There’s no legislation with regards to abortion that I’m familiar with that would become part of my agenda,” Romney said, according to the Iowa newspaper's website.

Romney did say he would reinstate through executive order a ban on American dollars being used to pay for abortions overseas. President Obama rescinded that ban. …

Abortion, abortion, abortion...
There is abortion lunacy on both sides...it's getting really old and disgusting.

It doesn't matter if he's for it or against it, the/a president can't do anything about it...get it dimwits?

He can nominate judges who are in favor of abortion.

Please explain to me why you think Romney is an abortion extremist. He has tried to avoid the subject, but he was asked about it, and he tried to punt the question. What did you expect him to do, flee the studio as soon as an interviewer asks it?

The entire GOP has avoided the subject of abortion for over a year. Even conservatives, who are getting screwed and no it, don't want to talk about it. Yet you still slam the right for being abortion extremists? What should conservatives or Republicans do in your estimation, so they won't be considered extremists?

Mittens sure is the master of getting things both ways. He says there is no legislation “he knows of” that he would promote, but then he can still say that if there is legislation he’ll support it. IOW, it begs the listener to hear what they want to hear.

Imagine, we’re totally on a roll, and all of a sudden abortion again raises its ugly ready to sink our ship. Hopefully this doesn’t become a side show that enables O to continue his fundamental transformation of our country for another 4 years.
Gay marriage, that’s an issue that hugely benefits us. Not abortion. If the women folk really felt that abortion rights were in jeopardy, they’d vote for a straight out socialist if that’s what it took. That’s why we could never win on this issue, because if ever a moment came where we thought we won, there would be a huge backlash which would make the backlash against Obamacare look like peanuts.

It wouldn’t sink our ship if Romney hasn’t been lying about his positions since even before the primaries. If this was clear from day one, it wouldn’t be a problem now. It’s a problem now because the loser does everything in his power to take both sides of the position. He can only do that for so long before someone pushes him on it and he says something stupid, even more stupid than the double-speak we see here.

I didn't say that YOU did. I think "abortion" is too extreme on both sides.
He can nominate judges who are in favor of abortion.
So what? It's already the law of the land.
He can purge the party of pro-lifers.
LOL! You mean like "Conservatives"? They/you/we are already a thorn in the GOP side.

Romney said he would select Jay Sekulow to be on or head up his judge nomination team. So that kind of nukes your "let's see how I can go into RDS (Romney Derangement Syndrome) and pick bogey monsters to try scare ever one with" right into the weeds.

“There is abortion lunacy on both sides...it’s getting really old and disgusting.”

Ant-abortion views only seem extreme when people don’t consider them babies being slaughtered; if we marched everyone past stacks of murdered children as the Allies did after liberating death camps in 1945 people would never support a pro-abortion candidate again. The fact is that many Americans have made a deal with the Devil, each on their own terms, and the government is determined to eradicate blacks to finally resolve the matter of what it views as permanently alienated, unassimilated descendants of the war contraband of 1865.

Anyone thinking that Romney would look at abortion the same way as President Reagan did is delusional. We all know it’s not going to be on the top of his agenda, regardless of what we may want.

The abolitionists went to court over 20 million slaves transported to the new world. Abortion has killed 2.5 times that number.

If we assume that about double that number were ever slaves - that means that more unborn children have been killed, than were ever enslaved in the Atlantic slave trade - and that’s just the number of abortions in America.

Robert Bork has been tapped to lead lead Romney’s constitutional and judicial advisory team. Jay Seculow is also on the team.

THESE ARE GOLD, NO, PLATINUM STANDARD PICKS!

So let’s end the lying right here, right now, about Romney’s judicial picks.

““Get in the back of the bus, prolifers! What’s another 50 million children to me?””

It depends on the judges he puts on the bench. He was talking about legislation - I don’t know of anything that any of the original Republican candidates were ready to push for, especially before getting elected.

Someone who can’t stand up for the life of the unborn won’t stand up for us. All his posturing is at the expense of 55 million murdered babies.

He can’t even hide his love of abortion for a month. He has never, ever been pro-life. I feel nauseous.
