Hundreds of Thousands Flee Democrat-Run California
Breitbart ^ | September 28, 2012 | TONY LEE

Due to high taxes, burdensome regulations, lack of public sector reforms, and a lackluster job climate, more people have left California than come to the state since 2005, according to a comprehensive study by the Manhattan Institute released on Tuesday, suggesting California is no longer “perceived by most Americans as the land where dreams come true.”

In the report, titled “The Great California Exodus: A Closer Look," Tom Gray and Robert Scardamalia found Californians have fled to states like Texas, Arizona, Nevada, Colorado, Idaho, South Carolina, and Georgia because those states have a better economic climate with less taxes and regulation.

The report found that between 1960 and 1990, 4.2 million Americans moved to California and helped accelerate California’s booming economy. Since 1990, though, California has lost nearly all of that gain, with net domestic out-migration averaging 225,00 residents a year. Between 2000 and 2010, out-migration has resulted in lost income of 5.67 billion to Nevada, $4.96 billion to Arizona, $4.07 to Texas, and $3.85 billion to Oregon.

The study found that “if all these trends continue, California may find itself in a situation similar to that of New York and the states of the midwestern Rust Belt in the last century, which have seen populations stagnate for decades, or even fall.”

Like locusts, liberals go to seek new green pastures after ravishing their last one.

What the article doesn't say is although nearly 5 million have fled the state the net population has grown, and a very large chunk of that are vassals of the state.

Tax base shrunk + spending obligations increased = anarchy around the corner.

Campbell’s Soup just announced they are closing down their Sacramento plant in a few months. 700 jobs gone to someplace, probably Mexico.

California used to be a swing state, now its solid blue. What you are receiving in your states are probably among the last reasonable californians.

Nope. Southern Cali will become North Mexico.

Then there will probably be some shooting.

I fled California in 1979, when I was in my late 20s. I will NEVER go back there to live, and will ONLY go there in the future for family events (yes, I still have some family there, but likely not for long).

The problem with these California expats is once they infest your state, they try to change it to the same craphole they escaped from.

Yeah, this way illegals from Mexico can pick vegetables in Kalifornia, so that the vegetables can be sent to Mexico and made into soup and sold back to Americans. Don’t worry though, the illegals will be able to buy soup with their EBT cards.

All of the liberal idiots are moving to the south. I don’t see mass migrations to Illinois or Ohio.

Hey, fruitbags....leave your liberal shit just where it infected you, the antidote here is not pleasant.

Count me as one - in Texas now. Getting rid of CA income tax and disability tax was like a HUGE raise - not to mention not having to deal with the their huge car registration (and insurance) costs. Plus, Texas is a great place to raise kids, relative to California or the Northeast.

Sure, some things are more expensive - like our property tax rate - but even that can be controlled, as you can choose to live in a cheap place, even if you make big bucks.

Yes, our sales tax rate is high - but for big purchases, we can deduct. It winds up that the real sales tax rate on a car is about 5% in Texas (about half of California).

Having said all of that, I still love California. It’s a gorgeous state and I still have many friends there. Not to mention Tommy’s and In-and-Out. My last vacation was to California. But as for a place to make a living and raise a family, California priced itself out decades ago.

“The liberal Kalipornicators need to stay out of Texas”

Not me. I haven’t been liberal since high school, and living in California only made me more conservative. So I come to Texas a lot more like a Texan than many natives here.

Just look at what the influx of "Mass-holes" did to the once ultra conservative state of New Hampshire (back when we had William Loeb and Mel Thompson).

The Kenyan must go.
