Liberals now belive:
1) It is a woman’s responsibility to provide the birth control
2) Women who are temporarily without birth control are incapable of saying “no” to a man’s advances
3) Stay out of my bedroom, but pay for what goes on inside it
How does birth control cost 18K? Condoms are less than $1 each, the pill $8/month at Walmart. A hysterectomy, though, might approach 18K.
That text almost looks like a Republican sneaked in and put that caption in to make liberals look foolish.
So if Obama is re-elected, the 50% of the US citizens that pay taxes will get to pay $18,000 per person per year for every 14 to 50 year old who is too stupid to know how to buy and use a $1 rubber or $5 per month birth control pills.
For some reason, that doesn’t make me more likely to vote for Obama.
Birth control pills cost $50 per month. Diaphragms cost $150. Spermicidal foam costs $20 per container. If these girls are spending $18,000 per year on birth control, they must be either prostitutes or porn stars.
Looks like Rush Limbaugh was right about these women — $18,000 for birth control? My spouse, sounding for all the world like Karl Rove, used figures and charts to show me that you could have protected sex 3 times a day for less than $900 a year. So what is this $18,000? Just another lie.
When does Sandra the Slut have time to study or practice law?
The writer is an idiot. Or - she may be looking at several abortions as “birth control”. I’m sure many liberals do.
“...used figures and charts to show me that you could have protected sex 3 times a day for less than $900 a year.”
Figures and charts? I would ask for a more scientific experiment. Like go for a month and multiply the results by 12!
Put a quarter behind one knee. Hold it in place with the other. That frees up $17,999.75. Just saying...
I’m sorry, but I’m not paying for women’s birth control unless I get the benefit of it. So, if they want me to chip in, they’re going to have to make an appointment with me so that I can get my renumeration.
Then again, maybe the gal is paying men for their services. In which case, if she is a typical libber, I can understand the higher costs involved.
Hysterectomies aren’t for birth control though. I think you’re thinking of tubal ligation, which, according to Planned Parenthood (blech) costs “between $1,500 and $6,000”.
There are also the birth control implants, which PP says cost “between $400 and $800 up front, but lasts up to three years”.
I don’t know how much a diaphragm costs, but I’m sure that can’t be $18,000.
Advanced Entitlement Mentality
Didn't take long at all for Obama and Fluke to convince women that taxpayer funded birth control is their divine right and that they ought to be outraged at Romney for trying to steal it away from them.
What other freebies should these silly women be entitled to at taxpayer expense? Manicures, fake eyelashes, Victoria Secret Lingerie?
This is how the republic falls, one idiotic grifter faction at a time.
Isn’t the $18k referring to the cost of a pregnancy/birth??
“So what is this $18,000?”
Well, let me do a little math. Maybe the little lady wants to be extra, extra, extra safe. She gets a very expensive tubal ligation for $6,000. Then, she gets the birth control implant for $800. She’s still not feeling safe enough, so she gets the pill for $10 a month. All of that adds up to $6,920 for the first year. So, she’s got 11,080 left for condoms. Say she splurges and buys some premium ones that cost 2 bucks each. She would need to have sex 5,540 times, or 15.18 times per day in order to make up the rest of the cost with condoms. Basically, she would need to be having sex every waking hour of the day.
it says to _help_ pay for birth control.
didn’t say “pay for my birth control”...said “help pay for my birth control”
wouldn’t that mean the cost is actually HIGHER than $18k ?!?
When healthcare costs spiral out of control and cutting services is required:
1) Do we reduce the number of people who receive free birth control?
—or—
2) Do we reduce the number of people who receive free kidney dialysis?
