The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Wednesday shows both President Obama and Mitt Romney attracting support from 46% of voters nationwide. Three percent (3%) prefer some other candidate, and five percent (5%) are undecided. See daily tracking history.
When leaners are included, its Romney 48% and Obama 46%. Leaners are those who are initially uncommitted to the two leading candidates but lean towards one of them when asked a follow-up question. Beginning October 1, Rasmussen Reports will be basing its daily updates solely upon the results including leaners.

you beat me by 14 seconds!
0’s approval index is dropping, at -17 now, “back to normal”.
He was up to -9 there for a while.
You need to get up pretty early to beat me Ravi. :0)
Perhaps, however I just can't believe that many people despise our way of life that much to where they want that tyrant pig reelected!
Ras is going to poll only leaners starting October 1st.
The media is trying extremely hard to depress Repub voters (see today’s NYT/CBS poll, yesterday’s WaPost poll - with record breaking Dem tournout models)... but they may in fact be making Dems overconfident, where they just stay home thinking Obama won. It would be the funniest backfire.
I want our side to shove these numbers in front of the MSM liars.
The desperation is so blatant (Quinnipiac) that it should be publicly ridiculed as a joke.
To the extent that these people can possibly be shamed, shame them. Doing something of this nature by our surrogates will help intensity and fundraising on our side.
âHe who will be left unnamedâ should be able to beat the wookie husband in a landslide!
I’ll take an eked out victory. Personally, I don’t see a landslide. But I’d love to be outrageously and laughably wrong and for you to be wildly right!
I’m not worried about Conservative and Republican voters, I’m worried about the independent vote being depressed. That is who Barry and his minions want to keep home. If the independents show up, it’s all over. There’s not a poll that I’m aware of showing indies going for Barry.
If they aren’t shamed by the poll that shows that 8% of the population views them as trustworthy, they won’t be shamed by anything.
Romney has it in the bag
These numbers are really good. If Romney is leading 48-46 with leaners, he will win the election IMO. Obama’s ceiling seems to be around 46-47 percent, which is dangerous territory for an incumbent.
Swing state polls show 47-47 with leaners. Great news for Romney. But I think it really comes down to Ohio, Virginia and Florida.
If RR can get to 52% the electoral college has to fall in line. This will be RR at plus 300 EV and north of 51%....hoping O gets 47% exactly. :)
Per their methodology page: “Calls are placed to randomly-selected phone numbers through a process that insures appropriate geographic representation.”
What is “appropriate representation?” Wish they would define that term.
I find this interesting on their website: http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/archive/mood_of_america_archive/partisan_trends/summary_of_party_affiliation

See Romney winning in electoral college. This is the reason why the MSM is fighting so hard. Right now Obama is losing and won’t be re-elected. http://www.redstate.com/jamesm/2012/09/24/barack-obamas-is-fighting-against-mitt-romney-and-the-electoral-college-and-losing/
About two weeks before the election..all these faux polls will have to start giving accurate results..otherwise they lose their credibility after the election..so, will they then have to say that “Mitt is Surging”
We both know that is BS for BO but it may discourage some “independents”. I actually think this election will turn into another Dewey vs Truman moment for the media, but they are going to be trying to rattle us all the way to election day.
“These numbers are really good. If Romney is leading 48-46 with leaners, he will win the election IMO.”
48-46 doesn’t mean nuthin’.
We do not elect presidents by popular vote. We elect them through the electoral college which is a series of state-by-state contests.
What REALLY counts this election is the vote in three critical states: Virginia, Florida, and Ohio.
What does Rasmussen have to say about the STATEWIDE vote in each of those states?
His “electoral map” is here (though some numbers may be outdated by now):

If Romney and the GOP go hard; people will be reminded thats its Obama and the democraps that ARE RESPONSIBLE for this BAD ECONOMY, LACK of JOBS, and RECORD numbers on FOOS STAMPS.
48-46 doesnt mean nuthin.
We do not elect presidents by popular vote.
Romney has it in the bag...
Up to us to make sure the bag doesn’t have holes ;)
To quote Gandalf....”YOU SHALL NOT PASS!!!”
I can tell you from personal experience that the mainstream media Anti-Romney memes are sinking in with the Sheeple. They are trying hard to paint Romney as an idiot, and it’s working.
Whether these people show up to actually vote is a different story, but the MSM is very effective at cutting someone apart.
There is a way to explain oversampling of Dems without some grand conspiracy theory.
I’m a registered Republican in a battleground state (Colorado) and literally have been called hundreds of times in the last two months. It’s hard to go 30 minutes without a push-poll or robo-call, it’s really making me mad, to the point that it is literally IMPOSSIBLE for me to be polled, because I cannot engage in even a fraction of these calls. IF the GOP-registered voters are especially being called a lot, that will burn them out (like me) so that responding is just not possible. That would skew results.
DIRTY TRICK Addendum: What if the Democrats are behind these no-name push-polls and burning us out, SO THAT WE WON”T ANSWER the actual polls? Quite a trick.
Yeah you should have heard the gal from NH that called this evening to the Dennis Miller show, she said her Dem friends told her they were not going to the polls since the bamster was way ahead.
i know what you mean....sucks, i really do think the majority of minority voters are going to contiuously take a toll on us as part of that crowd as well as single white woman it seems.
Very nicely said!
