Well past ten percent? Hardly!
According to the Labor Department, the unemployment rate was 7.8 percent in January 2009 when George W. Bush left office. It didn't get to ten percent until October of that year:
This is an indisputable fact. There's no grey area here. Unemployment was at 7.8 percent in January 2009.
Yet Chris Matthews, a long-time commentator for NBC News who infamously bragged about Obama giving him a thrill up his leg while proudly claiming right after the 2008 elections that it was his job to make the new president successful, went on national television Friday and said "unemployment was well past ten percent" when Bush left office.
Is this the caliber of reporting NBC News wants?
Consider that this is the same so-called "news outlet" that earlier this year was caught editing George Zimmerman's 911 phone call to make him look like a racist.
A few months later, long-time NBC staple Andrea Mitchell played a selectively-edited video on her MSNBC program that depicted Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney as an out of touch moron
Is this the behavior of a news outlet or a propaganda arm?
Do the executives at NBC News support one of their employees going on a nationally-televised program speaking undeniable falsehoods?
Maybe they should be mindful of Gallup's poll released Friday finding the public's distrust in media is at an all-time high.
Members of the press speaking verifiable untruths on television go directly to undermining the public's trust in the media.
If NBC News wants to be taken at all seriously, it needs to immediately address what Matthews said Friday.
No company in any industry should tolerate its employees misrepresenting the truth to the public.
In fact, in any other industry in this country, such behavior would result in serious repercussions to the offending party up to and including termination.
Are so-called "journalists" above this nation's truth requirements in dealing with the public all because they're toeing the Democratic Party line?

In December of 2006 it went down to 4.4%, then after the recession started in December 2007 (thanks to the rats ) by the time President Bush left office in January of 2009 and the rats held both houses, the unemployment had risen to 7.8%.
By October 2009 it had gone up to 10.0%

Roger Hedgecock, the former San Diego mayor turned conservative talk radio host, called MSNBC’s Chris Matthews a liar to his face Friday evening.

Crissy appeared twice recently on Celebrity Jeopardy and came in last both times against some other other clueless libs while making a fool of himself.
Exactly and as I have said so many times before, when the Republicans were in charge the economy was thriving and unemployment was practically nonexistent. Things changed for the worse after the rats took over
Facts and Chrissy don’t often meet up these days. Voracity isn’t a virtue in the service of the fraud who would be king. It isn’t just the booze and drugs with Chrissy, but the freedom of belonging, of coming out of the closet. If only he could hang onto the apotheosis of Barry’s new age..., Chrissy could achieve importance.

Anybody that doesn’t know by now that Chris Matthews real name is “Obama Stooge Chris Matthews” has been living under a rock for the last four years.
He is similar in nature to Baghdad Bob and the old Soviet era Radio Moscow and everything he says should be taken with a grain of salt.
What they don’t want us to think about is that the economy started going to hell when Pignosi took over as Speaker of the House in early 2007. They try to blame G.W. Bush instead of focusing on the real culprit, the DemoSoviet party. They also want to hide the unemployment numbers and the gas prices before Dear Leader took over. Remember gas was $1.85 a gallon then. Look at what Obozo and his radical EPA have accomplished since then.
In addition, they want us to forget the wet blanket that was tossed over business in this country right after Obozo came to power. It wasn’t long after Obozo was elected that I myself was laid off from my job along with numerous others. It took me nearly two years to find a new job, and that opportunity was opened up because the previous holder of my job moved on to another job.
The dark pall of Obozo still hangs over business to this day. Many businesses are not hiring and waiting to see what happens with the election. I know of at least one business that plans to do heavy layoffs if Dear Leader is re-elected.
Then there is the coming Taxageddon in January.
No matter how big a RINO you might think Romney is, Obozo HAS TO GO!!
I understand they are preparing a palatial mansion in Hawaii for Dear Leader to go to when he gets fired November 6.
... and the unemployment jumped up the last 2 months of Bush’s presidency due to the financial crisis caused by the dems. Prior to that the unemployment rate was quite reasonable although it bounced around some due to 9/11 and Iraq war etc. The unemployment rate averaged 5.3 percent during Bush’s eight years.
