Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned on Sunday that Iran would be on the brink of nuclear weapons capability in six to seven months, adding new urgency to his demand that President Barack Obama set a clear "red line" for Tehran in what could deepen the worst U.S.-Israeli rift in decades.
Taking his case to the American public, Netanyahu said in U.S. television interviews that by mid-2013, Iran would be 90 percent of the way toward enough enriched uranium for a bomb. He urged the United States to spell out limits that Tehran must not cross or else face military action - something Obama has refused to do.

Iranian commander: Nothing will remain of Israel if it attacks

Of course Iran said in the recent past that nothing will remain of Israel. PERIOD. Whether or not it attacks Iran...
“Iran has in the past made reference to the destruction of Israel but his comments at a Tehran news conference were unusually strongly worded and detailed. “
If Romney is elected and it happens on his watch, the democRATS can blame him.
Another result of president obungler’s policies.
For one or another reason I’m sure Iran won’t get a bomb. Netanyahu is exhausting this hot air for domestic consumption. Alliance with America is vital for Israel’s population to feel secure but it is a bit broken right now thanks to Obama&Hitlery. Bibi is beating a drum to show he looks mean without US support. I think it is about his career.
UK Telegraph said they are going to meet, either this weekend on during the week.
Also, I am sick and tired and hearing about various timelines for Iran. It was 2 years for something like 10 years, now it is 6-7 months to be on the brink, whatever that means. I just hope Israel knows, as our intelligence has not been too good in that of part of the world.
So if he believes this, what’s the urgency about attacking Iran prior to elections? What does he lose by waiting to see if Romney will help out? Romney couldn’t possibly be worse than Obama (at least he presumably wouldn’t leak plans of such an attack even if he were unwiling to support it.
Light them up Bibi!
Continue to be the leader and savior of the western world!
This was my prediction given in an academic paper written for an predictive analysis intelligence course I took a few years back: “Accordingly, within the time frame of 2011-2015, whether following Israels policy of nuclear opacity, confirmed by an actual overt test, or via a public/international announcement, Iran will conceivably acquire nuclear weapons capability.”
Yeah, if I can figure it out, this idiot-ridden administration and its intelligence apparatus’ can figure it out. =.=
I think this is a moot point as Pakistan, Russia or China can slip them a warhead and then the whole place is afire.....world chaos...the dream of the Communists...
...and the Islamists...
That can’t be true. For the last two years we have been told that Iran is at least two years away from.....oh wait...
“Another result of president obunglerâs policies.”
Is it naivite or is it something else?
Obama Destabilized the Middle East on Purpose
http://www.americanthinker.com/2012/09/obama_destabilized_the_middle_east_on_purpose.html
I see bombing in Iran’s near future before the election is over.
“UK Telegraph said they are going to meet, either this weekend on during the week.’
AFTER Netanyahu publicized Obama’s refusal to meet and backed Obama into a corner. Initially and for a while Obama refused to meet with him.
N Korea is first in line to provide “assistance” to their friends in Iran. Pakistan is currently playing fast and loose with their military equipment.
A big boomer could end up in Iran any day, and not necessarily a home made device.
The World’s enemies know there will be a sea change in the international political order in 2 months and now is the time to strike for maximum effect and minimum blow back.
Pray for our allies in Israel, they will be fighting the fight we started.
Israel, a country born out of the holocaust of WWII, a little strip of worthless desert with a sea on one side, and enemies everywhere else.
Several times those enemies have tried to drive them back into that sea, failing that they’ve resorted terrorism almost daily.
Then come along the Iranian Nutjob and his repeated statements that they’re going to wipe Israel off the map...
But you’re saying Bibi’s response is all a bunch of hot air and only about his CAREER!
Yeesh....
I fully admit all of these but all of the above has little to none in common with modern day. Bibi wasn’t the one who survived Holocaust, he hasn’t leaded the nation as it was brought up. Israel has changed a lot, just like United States did.
Wiki:
Netanyahu is the first Israeli prime minister born in Israel after the founding of the state. Netanyahu joined the Israeli Defense Forces during the 1967 Six-Day War, and became a team leader in the Sayeret Matkal special forces unit. He took part in many missions, including Operation Gift and Operation Isotope, during which he was shot in the shoulder. He fought on the front lines in the Yom Kippur War in 1973, taking part in special forces raids along the Suez Canal, and then leading a commando assault deep into Syrian territory.[1] He achieved the rank of captain before being discharged. Netanyahu served as the Israeli ambassador to the United Nations from 1984 to 1988, member of the Likud Party, and was Prime Minister from June 1996 to July 1999.
Seems to me he grew up along with Israel and understands how it’s changed, as well as the threats against it.
The White House says that Netanyahu never requested a meeting with Obama, and the kneepad media is taking them at their word.
What does Netanyahu say? Did he request a meeting, or not?
Iran can legally refine to the 19.75% red line per the Non-Proliferation Treaty of 1970, ratified by the US and legally binding by us. Israel has never agreed to the NPT.
Iran has produced 189.4 kg of 19.75% enriched uranium as of August 2012 and is continuing to produce 12 kg/month. It is using this enrichment to create fuel plates and rods for electrical power generation.
If Iran wants weapons grade 90% it can easily do so at any time in a room the size of double car garage using the power needed by a refrigerator. Israel and ourselves will know if that happens.
The Fordow enrichment plant entrance is under 300 feet of bedrock. In one day, Iran could take enough 19.75% and scatter it to at least 10 locations that have enrichment cascades and turn it into 90% in a month.
Or they could give it to Venezuela, Burma, N Korea, Cuba, Syria, Iraq, yes I said Iraq and any other of the 190 countries that signed the NPT.
There is literally nothing we or Israel can do to stop Iran. Bombing only hardens them and delays the guaranteed inevitable weaponization.
Ask yourselves this: What if the attack doesn’t work? We and Israel would be laughed at and many countries previously named would follow Iran’s lead and buy uranium cascades from them.
The embargo has shut down about 10% of Iran’s economy and will increase that effect.
Iran will stop their nuclear weapons program forever only when the people of Iran choose to stop it. Attacking them only makes the problem worse.

Oops, double hit. Maybe it needs to get posted twice to get some rational thinking started and for all of us to stop lapping up the Israeli PR machine.
I am absolutely opposed to Iran’s weaponization but I am more opposed to the ignorant slop going around about this problem.
Iran’s current production of 12 kg/month of 19.75% is about 4 bombs a year. That’s right now folks.
We have to shut down the rest of Iran’s economy and trade, now, to start a revolt in Iran. I’m talking food, whatever, shut it down.

We need to get our shiite together.
On the lighter brighter side, he IS going on Letterman...
Consider this:
Iran sets up a meeting with Obama 6 months from now... at the UN or some such public place - TV cameras are present...
Five nukes explode over Israel.
An Iranian (maybe Ahmadinejad ) turns to the President and says, "We have nukes positioned in the United States - one in Washington DC, one in New York City, one in Chicago and others spread among your other cities."
Then with a telling arrogance he says, "Everyone in Israel is dead - there's nothing to fight over - the world can have peace now. The Jews are dead. There's no reason millions of American citizens must die. Those deaths won't bring Israel back..."
"Millions of Americans will die if you move against me - you must hear me out", he says. There's nervous laughter in the room. Obama says he needs more time. His SS agents move in to arrest Ahmadinejad.
A stolen suitcase nuke is exploded over MacDill AFB in Tampa.
Ahmadinejad tells the President to check with MacDill - that MacDill has been destroyed.
Panic sets in... The President of the United States is told to surrender or other American cities will be destroyed - one every 10 minutes... He also demands the United States disarm - his 'friends' - the Russians - will help with that process. Hesitation - and 2 more cities with CENTCOM centers are destroyed.
Obama is President - what do YOU think he'll do?
That's why we stand with Israel. We're in this with them - have no doubt about that... if they go down, we go down with them....
The attack should be against the Mullahs and the top command. Massive leader death will be more effective than trying to stop production.
The attack is assumed to be by air but it might have a ground component as well. Death of many people will be more effective than death of stuff
“I see bombing in Irans near future before the election is over.”
If he’d said Iran was 6-7 WEEKS away from a bomb, I could understand this logic. But if he has 6-7 months, whats the urgency about attacking Iran prior to elections? What does he lose by waiting to see if Romney will help out? With the U.S. in its corner, Israeli’s odds of success in such an attack are greatly enhanced.
Thanks gandalftb. This has been a steady drumbeat for four or five years now; between countermeasures like Stuxnet and piffin’ some Iranian bombbuilders, as well as technical issues that rose from time to time, and even some resistance in the upper echelons to the idea of building nuclear weapons, success has remained out of reach. My wild guess is, six to seven months is the timeframe because there’s no longer any countermeasures that will do the trick, other than making the whole nuke program go kablooey.
Amen, people need to look at a map. The Volga River, Russia’s Mississippi, empties into the Caspian Sea. Iran has a 600 mile shoreline on the Caspian Sea.
Until Russia stops trade with Iran we can’t put the cork in the bottle.
I know.
The mullah’s in power are relative moderates compared to the Iranian Guards that would replace them, that believe the Imam will only come back if there is world war.
You don’t realize how deep the Armageddon jihadist nut cases are in Iran. There is already two military systems, the government and the Revolutionary Guards.
Killing the government leaders puts the Guards fully in charge and they are already running most of the nuke program.
Yup, we’ve been nipping at Iran’s heels fairly well but their leaders are not going to be re-educated by us or Israel.
Authentic and permanent political change has to come from the Iranian people or the leadership we kill off will be replaced by worse.
What no one is talking about is the true reason Iran wants nukes: They are not going to bomb the US or Israel and see themselves invaded by us.
Iran wants to demonstrate to Islam that Shiism is the true faith and leader for all muslims.
Iran fully understands that having the Shiite nuke elevates them to at least a peer in muslim prestige to Pakistan’s Sunni nuke.
Israel’s strategic reality is this:
They know Iran is not going to nuke them. But, if Iran gets the bomb, then the Saudi’s and Egyptians and Iraq’s and Syrians will demand nukes.
That nuke weapons pressure, of having border neighbors that Israel has already had several wars with, would be far more intimidating to Israel’s dream of annexing all of Palestine.
Reading the history and heroism of Yonatan Netanyahu, including his correspondence with younger brother Benjamin taught me all I need to know about Bibi’s motivations.
I envy the leadership that Israel now enjoys. In troubled times, we definitely need better.
Sounds crazy, but the world is desperately waiting for SOMEONE to show some balls against the Islamists. God knows America hasn’t got any. God Bless Netanyahu. I’ll take a front row center seat when the bombing begins. Bye Bye Ahmadinejad.
6-7 months?
Every few weeks for the past few years someone comes up with an estimate of just a few month more - it’s like crying wolf.
Here’s the deal - didn’t someone say the Iraq’s weapons were shipped to Syria before we invaded? If true, Syria has nukes now!
Going after Iran for possibly building nukes is a fools game - at the end of the day (when it happens) it will cost each of us thousands of dollars (fuel costs) and very possibly result in the destruction of Israel, Iran and several other countries. In fact, the end of the world may be at hand.
If you are correct then they are the ones on which to concentrate. Deciding where to concentrate the killing is beyond my capacity.
I doubt it is beyond the capacity of the Mossad/IDF however.
My point was that there need not be total reliance on the air force. Combined covert ground action can play a significant role in the assault.
After the attack, there must be chaos lasting for a long time.
If Obama wins, he can move actively to block Israel from attacking Iran and assist the Islamists in attacking Israel by blocking Israeki supplies, intelligence and Israeli extraterritorial military movements.
Israel wiping out all the muslim nations would have a huge impact on the world. But if little old Israel is wiped out, it wouldn’t be near as big of a deal.
Wow, what you said there was bat-crap crazy.
Authentic and permanent political change has to come from the Iranian people or the leadership we kill off will be replaced by worse. They've tried it, continually for years, hasn't worked. They won't be able to do it without outside help.
“Literally Nothing?”——naah——not quite buying that. That 300 feet of bedrock can be sealed forever just for starters. It’s not quite true that 100 watts of electricity would produce bomb quantities of enriched U235. One of the major demands of processing is the huge amount of electricity required. Another requirement is water. Another is heavy transport. Plutonium, if desired, needs a supply of spent fuel.
Without a turbine powered power grid Amanutjob can’t even make rocket fuel let alone enrich uranium/ extract plutonium. Without oil to sell he can’t even pay his rent never mind buying stuff from Russia/China/Pakis/ or Norks. Remember that 100 SLCM’s we used to shut down Kdaffy? Works every time we need to use them. One bunker buster sticking in the side of Bushehr and there goes his plutonium. You gotta be a little more optomistic-—there are plenty of ways to put Iran back in the 19th century and keep them there for quite awhile. The Iranians are the source or at least the agravation of every single ME problem and need to be re-trained soon.
True...
Thanks for the ping, Gangalftb.
(Wondering out loud if the time period is even shorter. Needless to say, time will tell — unfortunately.)
A Look at Iran
http://www.truthusa.com/IRAN.html
Maybe soon. Or maybe after blooms have fallen but before fruit has ripened. We’ll see. But Iranian leaders are determined to use brutal methods to stir things up. If they build nukes, they’ll propagate technologies and tools to other countries and launch them. Those kooks want casualties on all sides, because they want to inflame their like-minded comrades everywhere to hurt us.
What Achmeddinnerjacket must realize is that if he nukes D.C. and New York, Teheran, Qum, Isfahan, Shiraz and any place where Iran's nukes and mullahs are built and kept will all be vaporized, too.
The twelfth Imam may get his feelings hurt.
