Israeli Government Accuses Obama Of Lying After White House Said Netanyahu Did Not Request Meeting

The Israeli government on Wednesday accused the White House of lying by denying that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had requested to meet US President Barack Obama later this month in the US.

The accusation will likely serve to further escalate diplomatic tensions between the two countries, which have ramped up in recent days.

“We requested a meeting on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York and also suggested that the prime minister could come to Washington,” for a meeting, a senior government official in Jerusalem told the German DPA news agency on Wednesday.

White House spokesman Tommy Vietor had said earlier that no such request was made or rejected.

On Tuesday evening, after reports surfaced claiming Obama refused to meet Netanyahu during his short US trip later this month — reportedly due to a scheduling issue — it seemed like bilateral relations were headed toward a serious crisis.

But later that night, the president called Netanyahu and the two leaders spoke for about an hour, seemingly calming the situation.

One would hope that on a conservative site thoughtfulness and logic would prevail over emotionalism, innuendo and assumption.

Egomania is also a common human condition. Being blind to alternative explanations and preconceived notions is also common. Bias is a universal disease, despite contrary evidence, many people continue on holding wrong ideas. I find, though, that immaturity and the inability to admit you’re wrong is a phenomenon mainly of the left.

You've ascribed views to me that I do not hold. You've called me names. This is a conservative site, yet you argue from pretended facts that amount only to your own perceptions and emotional baggage. I've explained to you that you're wrong, yet you persist. That's very liberal. As a matter of fact the only people who behave like this in my experience are liberals.

Your monomania on this issue is disconcerting. That you use innuendo and are self-sourcing isn't good thinking. It's illogical. You've watched Marathon Man and the Boys from Brazil once to many times. Stop channeling Ezra Lieberman or is it David Bennett?
