The Israeli government on Wednesday accused the White House of lying by denying that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had requested to meet US President Barack Obama later this month in the US.
The accusation will likely serve to further escalate diplomatic tensions between the two countries, which have ramped up in recent days.
“We requested a meeting on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York and also suggested that the prime minister could come to Washington,” for a meeting, a senior government official in Jerusalem told the German DPA news agency on Wednesday.
White House spokesman Tommy Vietor had said earlier that no such request was made or rejected.
On Tuesday evening, after reports surfaced claiming Obama refused to meet Netanyahu during his short US trip later this month — reportedly due to a scheduling issue — it seemed like bilateral relations were headed toward a serious crisis.
But later that night, the president called Netanyahu and the two leaders spoke for about an hour, seemingly calming the situation.

I don't know why you put Christians or Jews in lower case or in parentheses, but I've already spent more time on this topic with you than is necessary. You have a misunderstanding and it sounds like a chip. Just brush it off your shoulder and move on, FRiend.
While I do like the idea of lowercase letters for those who have abandoned their religious ideals, you are mind reading and in grave error at least as regards me.
Next time you find some FReeper snidely implying that Jews are to blame for communism/progressivism/liberalism you ping me there. I really want to see that.
Much of the intellectual tradition of communism came from rabbis questioning the faith. That much is true, but these were atheists with Jewish mothers.
There is something Jewish about wanting to immanentize the eschaton (ie, hasten the coming of the Messiah). There is the Jewish tradition of gathering the sparks to do this through justice. In former Jews, this drive persists. They no longer have a religious eschaton, but a secular socialist vision or a perfectible world.
Take it easy. You really need to step back and breathe. Not every comment on Jews or Judaism is anti-semitic. Also, who is “us” as in “show us”?

It contains an excellent history of Talmudic scholarship into the middle-ages through the modern age. Strangely or ironically, German Jews, who were rabbis, started off on the criticism of the Talmud, became philosophers as opposed to being devout and eventually turned to foreign gods, namely communism and its subcategories in philosophy and psychology.
It is a history of some Jews and not a condemnation of all Jews. The tribe of Judah has its good and bad elements just like any people. It would be childish to extend it any further. I’m not into naming good and evil after ethnicities or races. We’re all human beings and by by default children of God.

I don't know the stats behind that, but it also depends on when communism began. It wasn't with Marx, but long before. Marx just collected all the bad ideas in one place, coupled it with a short-sighted and historically incomplete and misleading story. It took off from there.
Communism and other bad ideas thrive where people know just enough to hurt themselves. There is no human learning by osmosis - see Hilary Clinton.
My suspicion, after having dealt with liberals for so long is that the Ten Commandments is true. Men will make for themselves gods of their own liking. These gods may even be themselves. This is why God made things so clear - wrongful worship is natural. It takes effort to worship the True God. Centralized Planning is the creation of egomaniacs blind to their own limitations.
