It is becoming clear that if President Obama is reelected, it will be despite the economy and because of his campaign; if Mitt Romney wins, it will be because of the economy and despite his campaign.
The U.S. economyand, by extension, the publics judgment of Obamas stewardship over the economyis a millstone that no president would want around his neck. Polls and focus groups are quite clear: While Americans dont blame Obama for the economic downturn, they are disappointed with how he has handled it since taking office. They had hoped that he would be more effective.

While there are talented and hardworking staffers and consultants working on the Romney campaign, this column since July has been highly critical of Romney advertising and messaging. The decision to defer any biographical ads until Augustads that would have sought to define Romney on a personal level beyond being just rich, as someone worthy of trust, and as someone whom swing voters might be comfortable having in the White Houseis inexplicable.
The Obama campaign and allies ripped Romney apart in swing-state advertising, and with no Teflon coating to protect their candidate, it stuck like Velcro. While Romney allies say that such positive ads did not move numbers when dial-tested, my view is that these kinds of ads are essential to making their candidate acceptable. No matter how unhappy voters are, if they are uncomfortable with the alternative, the incumbent survives.
Only in the last few days has the Romney campaign begun buying any time in swing states on local cable systems, something the Obama team has been doing for months. While one campaign has been looking for every nook and cranny to reach voters and has been doing so for some time, the other didnt bother until after the conventions. Go figure.

Why are you surprised?
The purpose of his campaign was to destroy the only hope to save things.
Once he won, the game reached it’s natural conclusion. If Romney wins - Obamacare stays. If Obama wins, Obamacare stays.
Thus there simply is no choice between the two. That’s the whole point. Romney isn’t going to attack Obama. And the Rombots here will keep preaching to the choir saying we all have to fall in line.
It is important in 2012 to remember 9/11 because our younger generations are the most in danger of forgetting what really happened- or worse, our younger generations are susceptible to getting a politically correct view of 9/11. Many on the Left have tried to turn 9/11 into a day of national service or a celebration of tolerance, instead of remembering that radical jihad attacked this nation because of our western values.
Watch this moving tribute to the heroes of 9/11 composed by a man who lived through it:

Every American should watch this amazing video.
Also from the page, view the 'Pentagon Tribute Page', 'Anatomy Of The Attack' and 'Explanation Of Page'. Don't miss the heartbreaking 'That Day', In Author's Own Words.
It is the most viewed video of all, and is now in the Smithsonian.

The last paragraph seems to reveal the author doesn’t understand current campaign finance laws. Romney was prohibited from running any ads until after his convention. Super PACs could run ads but Romney can’t coordinate with them.
Romney was vicious and personal against his GOP primary opponents and blanketed the states with negative ads in all the media. He needs to do the same now with Obama, but he’s not, for some reason.
Good for you. Hope you live in a state where your vote means squat.
“The purpose of his campaign was to destroy the only hope to save things”
The purpose of his campaign is to guarantee the Exempt ones and their so called “insurance” (actually investment companies disguised as “insurance” and behind bank equity), and so called “banking” (no-collateral paper fraud inventors)enablers, free rides on the backs of everyone else.
Worse than the Undocumented Coffee Server.

Well disguised concern troll? Retread?
Read full posting history, mostly *very* pessimistic about any future prospects for conservatism.
Pretty good for a two-day-old signup.
You guys make the call.
willard is running a competent campaign by gop standards. A lot of this talk about how the “message is off” or how the campaign is not seizing opportunities is bunk. It avoids the bigger and more obvious problem: the candidate himself.
Voters have their BS filters set to max and unless they see a significant difference between the candidates, they’re going to pick the evil they know. Kind of difficult to draw that distinction in hussein and willards case. That lack of distinction is further compounded by a vocal and strident opposition within what is normally a gop candidates base: conservatives.
Grumble grouch grammar nazi grrrrr.
All I see in central Ohio are Hussein signs, 1 Romney sign.
Of all the list anyone ever used to accuse Romney, incompetence was never part of it.
I doubt Minnesota (my home state) is a battleground this year. Nevertheless, I have seen a couple of Romney surrogate ads that were as well done as I have seen in a long time. If such ads are also being presented in real battlegrounds, along with his own campaign ads, he will do fine when people get over the convention hype.
Does anyone really think that convention caused the majority to think Obama is suddenly ready for 4 more years? I doubt it.
People who liked him September 1st still do. That's about it.
the radio or TV is muted ASAP when Barry, Joe, Nancy, Harry, etc. utters his/her first word.
Hey, Caprock, I do that too! But I don’t think it helps that much. Tens of millions truly believe in that bevey.
“Just a few months ago everyone was blabbing about what a dirty trickster SOB Romney was.”
Well, well..... during the primary - remember the famous Thursday during the Florida primary? How dirty was Romney against Newt and all MSM / Drudge chimed in. Disgusting. NOW look at him. Where is the nasty, Mittens? Let’s get with it and beat this America-hating faux prez!
Do you wonder exactly what our “terrific” teachers are teaching about 9/11 to those who weren’t even born yet? How about those lefty leaning thugs in our classrooms - perhaps some parents should GO to School today and listen in. My take is - NO mention of it at all, or it was an inside job. This is not far fetched when you remember, Barack Hussein Obama ...MMM...MMM...MMM.. Folks - Go see what’s going on in your children’s schools. Get back to us, please.
The national journal is a even farther left than politico and the hill and that is hard to do !
Day five of the Obama media psych ops strategy continues !
It’s nice to see at least the Axelrod can coordinate his comrades in the state media to continue e the non stop barrage of its over , give up !!!
Let’s see another abc poll out with a +10 dem over sample was just drooped to pile on to the same narrative !
The obama state media seige will continue until election day !!
MJ is a huge lefty and was told to
Leave after attending Axelrod birthday party .
He was covering the WH for Fox and was caught red handed .
Cincinnati’s west side is a sea of Romney signs and Religious Freedom signs. I have yet to see an Odogeater sign yet and his bumper stickers. Are few and far in between. The drivers of such cars are either blacks or fugly women.
“guilt free life”?? By turning your country, your family’s future and the lives of your countrymen back again to an ANTI-AMERICAN hater who is DESTROYING this country?
My conscience would never allow such horror!
“Well they dont give them away.”
My husband was a Republican County Chair and we gave signs and bumper stickers away - as in “free”.
The Ugly Facts:
(1) IMHO, He may not be getting "nasty" because he believes the key to the crucial female vote is not getting nasty. That's the traditional "Soccer Mom" thinking .... that "women" are turned off by negative or ad hominem campaigning. The theory: "Play nice. Share like nice boys and girls. Get 55% of the female vote ... and you're in."
(2) Like it or not, there are racial issues. Romney needs an absolutely overwhelming majority of the white male voters in the country to:
The Thorny Problem:
To get the white boys voting ... and voting for him ... Romney's got to grow a set, get tough, slap this jive-ass liar-bastard Chicago/Kenya Marxist brother up the side of his mysteriously scarred burr head. But, he's probably thinking, "If I do that, will it turn off the "ladies?"
These are not original thoughts. They are cribbed from Pat Buchanan, who was at least smart enough to make himself a multi-millionaire off our zany election process and thus deserves to be listened to because he is unfashionably fearless. That's unlike Ralph Nader who made himself a multi-millionaire off the same process too, but whom no one in his right mind would heed.
Pat points out that there is no good reason for the Utes, Queers, Blacks, Latinos and the rest of the Democrat patchwork quilt, like so many women, the Jews, or public union members, to vote Republican. These groups although they have competing interests, get massive financial (and psychic) support and/or patronage power from Democrats. Ever been to DC? Every last gdm highly paid bureaucrat there in every department from top to bottom is a Democrat. Chances are the bureaucrap's entire family works for the gov, and has since grandpa came to town with FDR... or is some kind of Affirmative Action Anus (AAA). We still outnumber the bastards (not for long!), but not in all the right places, and it counts for nought if no one shows up for duty at the polls.
Speaking of nice, this is definitely NOT nice talk, OK? But do sneak over and listen to nutty old Pat Buchanan on the subject. Despite his many obvious flaws, he does have the politically incorrect cojones to say this is the "last white election." He ain't kidding.
Good points.
I agree with what Buchannan has to say on this issue.
A civilization cannot sustain itself without a birthrate that can support the prevailing culture.
Sadly, just like Europe - the White ASP/Catholic former-middle class family - is currently at a near-negative birthrate, while the former minorities in our midst - have an exponential birthrate - many of whom are on the government teat.
The other sad fact is that we have exterminated an entire generation through abortion that might have helped us hold onto our culture a little while longer. But sadly - because we wanted to get our rocks off without consequences, there are less of us, and more of those who want to transform the country to get more handouts.
We cannot sustain what we knew as the American culture. It’s mathematically impossible at this point. We have been outbred by those who want what Obama is serving, and by those who have little allegiance or even disdain for what we once were.
Ugly facts in indeed. But you cannot fix a problem without understanding what is broken.
-——while the former minorities in our midst ———
That is the result of the Vatican effort to reverse the Reformation and to take over America where the majority have disdained the former piety . They send millions up from the south to segregate and populate. The Pope doesn’t recognize separation
I’m assuming the idiot who wrote this nonsense is aware that Romney was prohibited from spending general campaign funds until after the convention. Not until last week was he allowed to bring out the big financial guns and take Obama apart.
Goodness gracious! For a n00b, that’s an enormous posting history. Bobloblaw2012 should have just a few tentative posts after only three days.
He is either a very long-time lurker or a retread. Perhaps a slight medical examination by the mods?
Somebody mash “Abuse” and ask for a retreadiness check.
The Pope doesnt recognize separation
Care to adumbrate? Separation of what?
