(Reuters) - The North American box office hit a slump at the weekend, with top earner "The Possession" taking in less than $10 million and what could be the gloomiest overall haul since the aftermath of the September 11, 2001, attacks on New York and Washington. ----------------------------snip---------------------------

Among the few notable spots was the anti-President Barack Obama documentary "2016: Obama's America." It boosted its cumulative total to more than $26 million to become the second-biggest political documentary since liberal filmmaker Michael Moore's 2004 anti-war indictment, "Fahrenheit 9/11." . . .

Even my lib girlfriend doesn’t have any desire to go to movies and she used to see 25 or 30 a year.

I almost never go on my own.

Four reasons not to go to the movies:

Expensive popcorn
Sticky floors
65 inch TVs with surround sound at home
Lousy movies

We go to the movies regularly, and are choosy about what we see. We’ve been out of town for the last 3 weeks, but went to a mvoie Fri. night — 2016, Obama’s America. I was surprised that it was still playing because it opened the week we left town. I asked the ticket seller if it was popular, and he said that it was the biggest seller at that particular movie location. This is 3 weeks into its run.

I must say that there was nothing else playing that I would consider wasting my money on.

Just finished D'Souza's book, The Roots of Obama's Rage. Good read, thorough research, plausible conclusion. I will go see the movie!

End the Hollywood tax credits.

End the Hollywood Unions.

Then maybe those ‘stars’ would STFU. But not as long as they are getting paid, they won’t!

Start with Cher and Baldwin.

There’s a lull in between the end of the summer movie tent pole season and the horror season. There tend to be a lot of movies that have a poorly defined audience. The aren’t necessarily even bad movies, but nobody has any idea who will watch them (like Dredd in 2 weeks, me and the couple hundred other people in this country that like Dredd will see it, but 99% of Americans have never heard of it and it will flop). And of course it’s also a dumping ground for pure turkeys. Including the Resident Evil franchise, a bunch of movies that no one is willing to admit in public they watch but they keep making enough money to excuse another movie.

You don't need to go to expensive hollyweird movies. I watch two or three short films a week on the internet and I am good.

I refuse to support an industry the thinks I’m stupid and a racist. I will spend my entertainment dollars elsewhere.

I went to a giant 20 screen cineplex in the Twin Cities Friday night. The place was a ghost town. Of the numerous popcorn/candy stations there only two were open.

I felt very bad for the owners.

If you pay for movie tickets, you might as well just write out a check to the DNC.

So just think how much better 2016 would have done if teachers forced their students to see it like happened with Michael Moore's cinematic droppings.

I heard that it's not just this weekend, the box office for the entire summer is the worst in 20 years with the exception of 2016 Zero's America.

I will be at the opening of Atlas Shrugged, Part II, next month, but I don't think it'll help the Hollywood lefties much.

Maybe, just as TV, they are all cr@p. Sex, gore, violence - perversion. Overpaid actors directed by overpaid directors and producers making junk products for TV and motion picture. I find myself watching the Hallmark and old movie channels. Liberalism slows and dulls the mind - no imagination.
