By Mr. Curmudgeon:
Are you feeling lucky? Well, are you, punks? Inspired by Clint Eastwood's Republican Convention soliloquy to an empty chair, representing the vacant years of the Obama presidency, many have been inspired to emulate Eastwood by declaring Monday (formally known as Labor Day) "Empty Chair Day."
As you may recall, the action hero of such film classics as "Dirty Harry" and "The Outlaw Josey Wales" used an empty chair as a prop to address our failed president. "We own this country," Eastwood said to the chair, "Politicians are employees of ours ... and when somebody does not do the job, we've got to let them go."
And Eastwood's idea has caught on.
I saw a photo posted on the Internet that shows a lone chair sitting on a front lawn. On it rests a sign that reads, "Labor Day has been cancelled due to lack of jobs. Monday is now Empty Chair Day. Put an empty chair in your front yard. Thank you, Clint, for bringing this to our attention."
On Facebook, a graphic artist took inspiration from Frank Shepard Fairely's iconic 2008 Obama poster, emblazoned with the word "Hope," and substituted a chair where the president's face once beamed ... oh, and the word "Chair."
In yet another contribution, a photo shows an empty chair with an empty suit dangling nearby.
So, go ahead, make Clint's day ... Empty Chair Day.

Obama probably believes all the empty chairs are a tribute to him. He thinks he’s Elijah.

Mine is out there ... so is my neighbors
Ever since Eastwood’s presentation, Obama has been sitting in my LazyBoy. He says it is more comfortable than anything on Air Force One and refuses to get out of my affairs.
Mine is out, too. ( A real cheapo lawn chair in case someone takes offense ) Looking for dang cord to hook cell phone up to puter....wanna capture a picture and post it.
Just now I placed an old wooden office chair in my driveway with a flag taped on it. I suspect that the politically unaware neighbors will not get it. But my more knowable neighbors will appreciate the gesture.

Don't you mean
Chair Force One?
When we recently moved to a new home, we found a cheap lawn chair in the garage from the previous owners. It has the seat neatly cut out...so we surmise it was used for comfort when out camping and using nature as one’s bathroom.
That is the chair we put out to “honor” The First Dictator today.
The GREAT DEBATE Day
Yesterday, upon the stair,
I met a man who wasnt there
He wasnt there again today
I wish, I wish hed go away...
