Senator Famous for Joking About Rape Campaigns for Obama, Biden

As New York magazine reported in 1995, from a writing session that the reporter sat in on:

Franken: “And, ‘I give the pills to Lesley Stahl. Then, when Lesley’s passed out, I take her to the closet and rape her.’ Or, ‘That’s why you never see Lesley until February.’ Or, ‘When she passes out, I put her in various positions and take pictures of her.’”

With the national conversation now turning to women's issues as a result of the bizarre and offensive comments by Missouri Senate candidate Todd Akin over the weekend, it seems a bit odd that Vice President Biden would take the stage with Franken, considering his own lack of sensitivity to the horrors of rape.

Support for Obama is +2 today in both Rasmussen and Gallup. How much of that is attributable to this is unknown, but Akin is certainly not helping the cause to offload Obama.

He should have come out the next day and said, I WAS MIS-INFORMED. THE INFORMATION THAT I WAS ONCE TOLD IS WRONG..

Instead, he just kept digging.

Wow. That is a MAJOR tumble, a 20-point swing.

If he doesn’t see this as unrecoverable, he is a moron. I am sorry, while I believe in Providence, it should be clear at this point God doesn’t “want” him or he would still be ahead in the polls.

Some 50+ years ago, while I was a curious pre pubescent, we guys would hang out and whisper all the rumors we had heard about female plumbing and how things work. We were on average 90% wrong on the matter.

This guy, it seems is still falling back on his early boyhood biology training

Y'all need to calm down - NOW, dangit!

This is simply the result of the blitzkrieg of democratic lies. As the election draws closer, I can see him easily pulling ahead as people realize the disingenuousness of the Demosocialist machine.

Akin needs to drop out and too many voters treat voting like a popularity contest.

Akin needs a new campaign slogan. How about:

“I may be an Idiot, but I am not so stupid as to vote for Obamacare.”

Whaddya think, is that a winner or what?

He is now officially tagged as a loser with this 10 point under water poll. His campaign funds will dry up with the exception of a few evangelical diehards and hopefully he will remove himself within the next 2 weeks

If you look at the numbers and add the 9% that wish someone else would get in the race, you'd have 47% for Aiken.

If the Republicans elite would keepout of this, he'd win.

http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/elections/election_2012/election_2012_senate_elections/missouri/questions_2012_missouri_senate_august_22_2012

4* Should Akin withdraw from the campaign and have the Republicans select another candidate to run against Senator Claire McCaskill?

41% Yes
42% No
17% Not sure

If they run another Republican candidate this late, she will be guaranteed to win.

Wasn’t he leading by 11 just a few weeks ago? Textbook example of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

Family Council Research Polling yesterday has Akin ahead over his opponent by 45 - 42 percent. Earlier in the week Mason Dixon Polling and Research group has Akin trailing by 9 full points.

The only thing possible could be the "Bradley Effect" on those polled. This is excluding down right skulduggery. They do not wish to be seen in a bad light by the pollster and give out what the pollster is thought to believe. The Bradley Effect is one name for that.

Akin still survives being thrown under the bus. (imho) It has been noted that the MSM seems to have forgotten Travon Martin- George Zimmerman.
