A small group of immigrants gathered in Woodbury Monday to protest the use of the word "illegal" to describe those who have entered the United States without documentation.

"By saying illegal, they're assuming that we broke a criminal law," said Jackeline Saavedra, 27, of Bay Shore, a Touro Law Center student who identified herself as undocumented. "Not everybody enters illegally."

Coordinators said they prefer the phrase "undocumented immigrant."

Yet another reason we need to purge America of the illegal immigrant within; we don't need anymore stupid people breeding within our borders. We have enough of those already, they're called liberals.

“Not everybody enters illegally.”

Even overstaying a visa is illegal...nope...don’t see a problem with the terminology.

Skru your selves.

If you knowingly overstay your visa, you are here illegaly. If you sneak across the border, you are here illegaly. I, and a lot of other people, are getting tired of these arrogant illegals and their enablers flaunting their complete disregard of the law, knowing they can get away with it because of our corrupt government.

= = = = = = = = == = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =
And stolen cars are ‘unauthorized use’.

Few years back I had a car sitting in my driveway and (according to police) someone apparently ‘borrowed’ it as I had left a set of keys in it.
When ‘written up’ it was called unauthorized use, with the explanation that it was bad for the ‘zip code’ insurance wise if to many cars were reported stolen etc.

I opined, ‘Isn’t unauthorized use of MY car if I invite you in my home and you take my keys and use my car?’
Which I actually consider stolen etc but.....

When the Police came by to take the report he looked around and said ‘Kind of gutty someone come here and take a car out of your driveway’.... I wasn’t in the woods but somewhat secluded. He ‘assumed’ (correctly, I may add) that I was armed, as were most of us and this was before they ‘officially’ said just because someone was in your yard and stealing your property they weren’t ‘fair game’.

Course, back then, alcohol and drugs weren’t considered ‘diseases’ making one eligible for SSI etc...

AH, the good old days when you could protect your homestead and possessions.

Coordinators said they prefer the phrase "undocumented immigrant."

Oh, it's a "preference" is it?

Well then, it appears that I have a preference as well.

Criminal Illegal Alien Border Law Violators

I stopped using it a while back because it puts a LOT of emphasis on the illegal aspect of the Illegals presence here in the u.S. as well as the origin of the illegals illegality's (ie, crimes) that earned them the label of "Illegal" . . . and it was kind of long.

But since it is a "preference" I prefer to go back to using illegal as it is an accurate description of the illegals and it is not THAT long.

.

I’d prefer they be arrested for ILLEGALLY enter or remaining in American and sent packing...........

I’d prefer they were not significantly adding to our National Debt.

When you are in the country against the law or your visa has expired then you are here ILLEGALLY.

Don’t like it then become legal. But return to your own damn country to do it. No cutting in line, not cheating.

You don’t like being illegal? I don’t like illegals who think that I need to treat them like special citizens or treat them like fellow citizens.

When the first act of your visit to America is to break the laws then you are NOT welcome here.

Still, the word “illegal” makes Elias Llivicura, 18, who described himself as undocumented, feel “uncomfortable.”

“We also have feelings too,” said Llivicura, of Bellport, who came to Long Island from Ecuador at age 8. “It makes me feel like I’m different from everybody else,” he said. “It makes me feel like really bad inside.”

BWAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Being called illegal made him feel bad inside? Like he’s different from everyone else?

Guess what, Elias, YOU ARE DIFFERENT FROM EVERYONE ELSE. Everyone who is either a natural born citizen or an immigrant who LEGALLY became a citizen. If that makes you feel bad, Elias, you are free to leave.

Seriously...is this guy kidding? We should stop calling them what they are - illegal - because it makes them feel bad? It makes ME feel bad that they’re here in the first place and I’M a citizen (with easily scannable papers to prove it).

Ugh...this gets me so aggravated.

TS you PC retard. It is illegal for you to be here, so the term fits just fine. Don’t like it, too bad. You can always leave the country if it hurts your feelings so much.

Oh, and a good portion of us understand why you really want us to stop saying “Illegal Alien”, but I refuse to stop using it as the term fits just fine.
