A military appeals court placed the trial for accused Fort Hood shooter Maj. Nidal Hasan on hold indefinitely Friday amid continuing issues surrounding Hasan’s refusal to shave his beard, CNN reported.
The court martial was first halted Wednesday so the appeals court could consider the Army psychiatrist’s objections to being forcibly shaved. He has been fined and held in contempt repeatedly for remaining bearded, which is a violation of Army regulations, but says the facial hair is an expression of his faith. Hasan, 41, is an American-born Muslim.
Hasan’s court martial had been scheduled to start Monday for the 2009 mass shooting at Fort Hood, for which he faces 13 charges of premeditated murder and 32 counts of attempted meditated murder.
Hasan first grew the beard in June, prompting a pre-trial hearing to be postponed. The judge in the case, Col. Gregory Gross, threatened in July to have Hasan forcibly shaved if he did not comply with orders to remove the beard on his own.
According to CNN, it was unclear how long the case would be on hold.
Killing people is “an expression of his faith” obviously by definition. So why is he stopped from that? Such discrimination! Man we’re screwed.

That the murderer — part of the ROT (religion of terror) hasn’t been convicted at least means he can’t receive a presidential pardon ... which, although unthinkable to patriotic Americans, is not beyond the realm of possiblity.
Why would it take two years to try this man? President Obama said we should not jump to conclusions on this his guilt.
And now we have to have a national debate on whether he can be leagally shaved, although as a member of the military he has already agreed to military grooming standards? Is President Obama shielding this man?

Hey, whoa! I’ve been using Barbasol for forty years & it’s a smooth comfortable shave. And before you shave off a beard you have to snip it to stubble first. For Hasan, a jagged edged dry shave would give some justice.
Our government & military’s preoccupation with not offending Muslims is an even bigger problem than this sneak mass killer Hasan’s gaming the system to prolong his sorry presence on this Earth.

IMO: The Colonel has been advised that Obama doesn’t want a trial while he is running for election.
So whats next? They clear up the beard issue and then he refuses to wear a uniform at the trial, putting off the trial even more?
There is something the Obama justice department wants hidden in this affair that won’t be uncovered with a razor.
Can’t they just proceed with this case with the defendant “in absentia”? Seems to me, I recall reading something about the UCMJ providing for that if the judge believes that defendant’s behavior warrants it. Let this turd sit in his cell, beard and all... until they come to strap him to the gurney.
Part of me says wait until we get an adult at Justice then throw the book at him, but my fear is that King Bozo Ohwhattheheck will pardon Hassan before his is trown out of the White House and ship him to Iraq as a goodwill ambassador...
Oddly enough, the easiest thing to try him as would be a traitor. The first paragraph of Article III, Section 3 of the Constitution provides:
Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the testimony of two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open Court.
That's a deliberately hard standard to meet. However, all of it is a slam dunk in this case. Hasan clearly adhered to our Islamist enemies, giving them aid and comfort, in the presentations, witnesssed by many, that he made during grand rounds. He deliberately topped that off by waging actual war against the United States when he murdered 13 military and civilian people at Ft. Hood while yelling "Allah akbar!" Now he's providing more aid and comfort to our enemies by refusing to shave, in open court and before many people.
He isn't bering tried for treason and the military people he killed and wounded haven't been given Purple Hearts because and only because Hussein himself is a traitor who enthusistically sympathizes with, aids, and supports our most evil Islamist enemies.

An alternative view. The military wants him tried under a Republican President so that when he get the death penalty it wont be commuted by the President. Assuming the current one doesn’t just outright pardon him.
Dry shave him with an old fashion double edged blade! It works every time it is tried.

Now can I mention a method of execution? There are hog farms where there is so much manure that the farms have large holding ponds. Tye a concrete block to his ankles and drop him in. There are many sources that say drowning is a very painless and easy death so I don’t want to hear any claims of cruelty.

If those involved had some wit, they would feed Hasan a mickey, then use laser hair removal over his entire beard area while he was asleep. Then the judge could order him to not regrow his beard, and, lo and behold, it wouldn’t grow, “just because the judge ordered it not to!”
