Romney slams Obama in tough new speech
The Hill ^ | AUGUST 14, 2012 | Emily Goodin and Justin Sink

Posted on 08/14/2012 6:20:31 PM PDT by RobinMasters

Mitt Romney used a tough new campaign speech to personally blast the Obama campaign on Tuesday, saying comments earlier in the day from Vice President Biden are "what an angry and desperate Presidency looks like."

"Mr. President, take your campaign of division and anger and hate back to Chicago," Romney said while campaigning in Ohio.

Romney was responding to Biden's suggestion that the GOP ticket's economic policies would “put y’all back in chains."

The vice president made the remark while campaigning in Virginia, during a discussion of Wall Street regulation.

"They’ve said it. Every Republican’s voted for it. Look at what they value and look at their budget and what they’re proposing. Romney wants to let the — he said in the first 100 days, he’s going to let the big banks once again write their own rules — unchain Wall Street," Biden said. "They’re going to put y’all back in chains. He’s said he’s going to do nothing about stopping the practice of outsourcing."

Romney repeatedly and harshly criticized Team Obama for the remarks.

"His campaign and his surrogates have made wild and reckless accusations that disgrace the office of the Presidency. Another outrageous charge came a few hours ago in Virginia. And the White House sinks a little bit lower," Romney said.

Romney has his faults, but he’s no John McCain. He’s not going to bend over, pull his pants down, and offer up love to Barack Obama.

Romney has his faults, but he’s not a lick-spittle brown-nose ass-kissing bottom-shemale like John McCain.

Romney might lose this election, but he’s going to fight to win.

“Mr. President, take your campaign of division and anger and hate back to Chicago,”

A statement like that makes me think that I supported the wrong people in the Primaries (i.e., anyone other than Mitt). Other than Cain, I don’t think any of the Republican candidates would have had the apparatus to say what he said.

I’ve said the same thing for months (but got little acceptance on FR)

This guy has wanted to be POTUS since his Dad’s bid failed.

And don’t be surprised if the Mormon detective squad turns out to be as effective as the one the Clintons had.

I agree about Paul Ryan. And absolutely great choice. At first I only thought he was a good choice, but the more I think and read about Ryan, the more I’m convinced it was a great choice.

Ryan is much better than I originally thought.

Is there a full text transcript available anywhere?

FWIW, I’m cautiously impressed.

I’ve been saying for few weeks that Mitt needs to start talking DOWN to the Fraud.

“Mr. President, take your campaign of division and anger and hate back to Chicago.”

Pretty decent.

Good. Michelle Malkin was telling Mitt weeks ago to stop saying that Obama is a nice guy...he had to learn the hard way.

Call me a wishful-thinker but I believe that Romney is completely without principles. Which is a bad thing but not as bad a thing as having liberal principles.

I believe that all his “liberal principles” in the past were just so much political calculation... the political calculation of an extremely ambitious man.

As are his current “conservative principles”. The difference is, Romney is smart enough to know that the best way to latch on to the power of the growing conservative movement is to make his new “conservative principles” indistinguishable from real conservative principles.

I know, I know, there is no substitute for the real.

But let me ask this: Aren’t there examples in history of an ambitious man taking on a cause out of sheer expediency and then actually moving that cause forward a great deal?

Could be.

I think Mormon is a strange religion, BUT every Mormon I’ve known personally is a fine upstanding citizen.

Just like every Muslim I’ve known personally is insular and suspicious.

Now I want to know, will Mitt PROSECUTE anyone in this administration for their crimes and purge all the Democrat moles and traitors, or just preach to us about forgiveness if elected?

At least I know Big Media will put in 1,000% to keep Mittens honest.

Keep talking down to Hussein, Mittens.

Tell him it’s time to eat his peas.

If he goes back into his “Obama is a nice guy” mode, he’s going to lose this election.

Do you hear that, Romney operatives? Tell your guy NOT to emulate that bottom-dwelling scum-sucking loser, John McCain.

Because of the type of people that are there, starting with the man at the top.

Absolutely wrong. It’s RBIs that make the difference. Romeny’s been hitting base hits all along. Ryan’s a homerun.

They just need to keep making singles over and over again. The doubles, triples and homeruns will come naturally. Obama’s a wrecking machine and as the election goes worse for him his liberal loons will just add fuel to the inferno.

Mitt’s telling Hussein to take his anger and hate back to Chicago was one of the milder things he said about Hussein.

Good to see him promise to get rid of HusseinCare.

In all fairness, Mitt HAD to play nice guy for awhile - if he had gone on the attack first, you know the media would have cranked up the old “Republicans are vicious/negative” spin.

By letting Obama do the smearing first, TeamRomney gets sympathy without the smearing.

And Mitt’s advisors DO seem to understand that politics is a blood sport - for the first time in his life, Obama will NOT be getting an affirmative-action free ride - and he won’t be able to handle it.

Get those PVR’s rolling, keep a record of all this.

I will be happy as long as the American people are told the truth about the debt and the future fiscal crisis.

If the American people have reached the point where the majority wants to continue to vote itself entitlements, benefits and handouts from Democrat politicians that pander it to them, than effectively the USA is done as a Democracy and this will be the last generation.

The shame will be that history will not be kind to us for our selfishness and utter disregard for our posterity as every generation before us had sacrificed for theirs.....

This is the perfect pitch since it makes Obama look like an immature divisive baby.

Romney looks like the adult in the room and gaybamas attacks are becoming less and less powerful.

THERE YOU GO AGAIN - is what mittens has to say every time gaybama attacks him and avoids his record of debt, deficit, delay, depression, defamation, despair decline, and deciet.

I literally danced in my family room at 11;15PM when I first heard Ryan was our VP pick. Danced! And Danced, and Danced and Danced, quite honestly! Never been excited about Romney, like most of us... but today I must admit, I am tempted to Dance with Romney's words. I hope he excites me as much as Ryan soon, since his announcement, so far so good!
