Silly columnist. Every country's coverage focuses on its own athletes. There's nothing malevolent there.
And probably this year's Olympic coverage was less "chauvinistic" than in other years when the Olympics were held here and the crowds were stoked.

Chinese athletes "dont get many humanizing breaks." Farhi lamented, "Bob Costas hasnt been having them over for many post-game chats, nor is Visa likely to feature them in its golden-tinged commercials anytime soon." They will make plenty of money in China. How many hamburgers would a Chinese athlete be expected to sell here?

Leni Riefenstahl and Albert Speer pretty much invented the modern Olympics as shown on TV. Her masterpiece OLYMPIAD has yet to be surpassed as a record of the games.
