I remember her very well back then, top notch singer, had the OP mentioned what band she was with it would have been better.

My summary of the Olympics?

Totally sucked, I recorder almost every single hour from NBC every day.so when I came home from work I would then play back the days recordings, so a 8 hour or so session would only give me about an hours worth of decent coverage, and I skipped every sing interview and side story, all I saw was fast moving images.

I honestly hope that when the next one comes around I will have a satellite dish that will get me live coverage from other than I suspect another NBC operation.

Also it would interesting just how many millions of Americans did the same thing, recorded the shows and then just viewed their particular sports, I skipped running, rowing, wrestling, basketball and soccer.

I enjoyed the diving, swimming, the BMX, even the equestrian events, and I missed a lot like shooting, discus, shot put and javelin because NBC showed almost nothing of those events.

So fondly I recall the Sydney games a complete and wonderful Olympics.

And here is looking ahead to Rio, at least by then Obama will just be a bad Total Rekall episode upon America.

Actually, the 'black and red' symbolizes the 'labor radical syndicalist' movement.. This is 0bama's ideology and that's why ALL of the 0bama's family wore black/red at his 2009 Inauguration party. A MAJOR signaling as to what he had/has in store for America.

A 'radical syndicalism' of the type where labor unions control all:

I like her voice and music. She is a theatrical person, that’s for sure.

GAY ZOMBIES ATTACK!

...I still like "These Dreams," though.

I hope you mean the opening and closing ceremonies, because OUR USA teams were GREAT.

I won't dignify that with a full reply.
I'll just say I missed a lot of the good stuff because I flat out refuse to watch 500 hours of "beach" volleyball, punks on mountain bikes, the sound of pots and pans being beaten, and rap.

Did I mention that I loved every minute of the Mars Curiosity news conferences? Some I watched several times.
NCIS marathons are good, too.

Annie was really fantastic tonight.

She is not a one hit wonder, she has sold 80 million albums. She’s legend.

Reading so many of the crotchety-assed, prissy posts on this thread I am reminded of the last song of the ceremony itself, the Who's "My Generation."

Isn't it just like so many of us, fat or balding, having buried friends and parents, disillusioned, cynical, and still so self righteous, to attack from behind a keyboard somewhere those artists who are as old or older than we are but who still put it on the line to entertain people. Isn't it just like the archetypal sour old fart to look at a spectacle like this two-week global celebration of youth and sport and excellence and international camaraderie and say "Bah! Can't stand all that rap music."

...And yet feel compelled to MAKE that comment, as if holding on to some shred of relevance, as if also wanting to perform and have approval, as if it were possible, somehow, to prove wrong the march of time, and not fade away.

She was huge in the ‘80s, part of the “Cool Brittania” wave in music.

Annie was awesome, did anyone notice how many people were reaching out to help her step down or then times she was stepping up, you could see the obvious effort there on her part.

What a trooper.
