Who are your sources? Do we have the ID number of the plane, and can we track it?

Four years ago, some very alert FReeper noted the tail number of a private plane flying from Alaska to Dayton, OH in the middle of the night - several of us tracked that plane. Well before the plane landed, many of us strongly suspected Gov. Sarah Palin would be McCain's VP pick...

As a Californian, you know that how? Here in Wisconsin we love Paul Ryan and only grudgingly would share him with the nation as the VP nominee.

I learned from colleagues and clients in Wisconsin who have had to deal with him, and from coworkers in DC who have had to deal with him. You'd be surprised to learn that they still unlock the doors on state boarders now and then and let people travel and work elsewhere.

While they are both qualified for their current offices, neither man is a Natural Born Citizen, as defined as someone born here to two citizen parents.

That fact makes them Constitutionally ineligible to a fair number of republican and independent voters.

Should Romney nominate either man, he will alienate and guarantee a fight with this group of otherwise steady republican voters and donors.

And that ain't hogwash. That's a promise. An old oath sworn in earnest and still honored makes that fight necessary.

If he's pragmatic, or better yet, if he honors the Constitution and the original intent of the FFs, he won't pick that fight.

Let's hope those tea leaves are right.

This reminds me of the night we found out Sarah Palin was the VP choice. FreeRepublic, along with one other website, had the news first.

That was memorable, wasn't it? I can still remember that first picture I saw of her in an FR thread. FReepers had the whole thing sussed in no time, and were providing details about this new national figure almost immediately.

That was an incredible night! I was on those FR threads four years ago as well. We all strongly suspected McCain's pick was Gov. Sarah Palin because of the private plane flying from Alaska to Ohio.

I just got to this thread... is there any good info about this supposed "Romney's plane" or is this just a gossip thread?

Steve Hayes on Fox News now saying Marco Rubio was told he was NOT picked to be Romney's running mate. Hayes said it was "confirmed" that Rubio wasn't picked, and has been told. Whoa...

Whoa, indeed. Don't think he'd say that unless it really was confirmed.

On a personal level, Ryan is an ass. He’s also a wheeler-dealer insider.

"On a personal level..." So you know Paul Ryan personally?

Can you elaborate on your statement above??

Well good! Let’s not support them and have 4 more years of what we’ve had.

Seems like I’ve heard all of this before....4 years ago.

Steven Hayes said a few minutes ago on Fox News that Marco Rubio received a phone call "from Romney" confirming that he was NOT picked as Romney's running mate.

CNN just finished trashing Paul Ryan (via a disgusting pre-recorded Trash Paul Ryan video put together by John King), then I believe it was King speaking on air (via phone) claiming that Gloria Borger and other CNN reporters' sources are saying the VP pick is indeed Paul Ryan...

Just heard on Fox News they ARE confirming that it is Ryan - Romney will make the official announcement tomorrow morning, 9:00 AM ET....

And there are headlines on Drudge, and a poll question:

“WAS PAUL RYAN A GOOD PICK?”

On a personal level, Ryan is an ass. He’s also a wheeler-dealer insider.

Wow, You made this comment as if it was proven fact and first hand, and then we come to find out later in thread that it is based on second-hand+ opinions from someone with whom you do business in Wisconsin?! Hmm and could they have axe to grind with Ryan? Do you know the political persuasion of all of your business colleagues? Also, regardless of the individual, very few, if anyone is universally liked by all. Eh, maybe Mother Theresa? But for most successful individuals, there is at least one disgruntled acquaintance on the sidelines...So I am not sure what your point is except to muddy Ryan....

Frankly, when I need to choose a professional for something that I consider really important (whatever field in which they may be...doctor, lawyer, architect, etc.) I am faaar more concerned about what they are like on a professional level. Is the professional’s personal life even my business and if I am not a personal friend/colleague, how would I even know what they are truly like? I want the most competent surgeon for surgery, lawyer for trial, etc., and frankly, I may not care if he/she is an ass in their personal life...It would be be great if they are wonderful neighbors, friends, etc, but for really important things, I chose the most competent

I don’t know Ryan personally, but I am very impressed by his professional expertise and have been for a long time~for many years he was a lonely voice in wilderness sounding the alarm for deficits, government spending, etc. This culminated in his spending reduction bill, A Road Map for America, in 2008 before the general election. He is a conservative who has been talking about the debt and spending issues for a long, long time...IMHO, we need many more public figures like him.
