No matter what is happening, put your dogs up before calling 911.

She told Eyewitness News 5s Carla Wade that when the deputy arrived, she asked him to wait a few minutes before going into her back bedroom so that she could put away her two dogs.
Harmon said the officer did not wait and when her 6-year-old dog Sophie came near the deputy, he pulled his weapon and shot and killed the dog. Sophie was a female blue heeler who had just recently had puppies.
Harmon said the bullet ricocheted off the ground and went through a wall in her kitchen. Her small children and elderly mother were in a room about 10 feet away.
A spokesperson for the Cleveland County Sheriffs Office said they are investigating.I'm frankly surprised that the officer wasn't killed for doing this. Sooner or later, an officer is going to lose his life playing "Sadist" and killing people's pets. And I hope that I'm called for Jury Duty when that happens. There is such a thing as "Justifiable Homocide" - and cases like this illustrate this point.

She knew the cops were coming. They didn’t show up unexpectedly. Should have put the dog in the room immediately after hanging up on her 911 call.

Never call the cops for any reason.
Nothing good can ever come of it.

Pigs hate dogs, what else do you need to dog. I’m waiting for the day when a person shoots the pig that shoots the pet. Law enforcement has developed a messiah complex with an entitlement attitude and it will not end well

Well let’s not brand and lump all police officers into the hated dog killers column. Some police are excellent people and others are scum of the earth.

Sounds like an overreaction to me.
No details, it’s possible the bitch could’ve been hyper-sensitive (she’s brooding babies), but generally it does sound like the cop flipped and went trigger-happy.
(Granted, the woman should’ve been smarter and put the dogs away - maybe - when waiting for the police.)

Call a cop.
Call for pizza.
The pizza dude will show up faster, shoot only the bad guy, and have a hot fresh pizza.

The poor woman, brainwashed into thinking the police are your friend, that they are there to help. All her blind faith gained her was the death of her pet. I suppose she should be thankful that’s ALL that happened.
Involving the police in any situation is simply too much like Russian roulette.

Yep, that is a bloodthirsty cur. A real Hound of the Baskervilles, if you ask me. Here he is shown along with several other bloodthirsty canines so vicious, you can still see their direct relation to their lycanthrope ancestors. Can you blame the cops for defending themselves against such hounds of unspeakable terror?
