Obviously such threats by mayors are inappropriate and stink of corruption and collusion. But it's up to the people who elected them to denounce the rhetoric these mayors are spewing, because it certainly won't happen otherwise. Menino (Deval Patrick's puppet) and Rahm are in lockstep with Obama.
If these mayors attempt to use zoning as a weapon to prevent legitimate businesses from establishing operations in their cities, they will be exposed, will have a big fight on their hands, and hopefully will be driven from office. If not, the people who elected them deserve what they get.
Good! I’m sick and tired of Obama (or any other President) weighing in on every crack-pot leftist cause de jure. And make no mistake, this whole Chick-fil-a thing is just another leftist-press-generated brouhaha. I applaud Romney for not becoming another Obama in this regard. Presidential attention to this kind of leftist BS is exactly what the leftists and leftist press are trying to gen up. Ignore this crap and it will go away. These issues exist only because the leftist press choose to make them exist in the first place. Romney doesn’t need to aid and abet them by getting sucked in to their need for attention.
Presidents should focus on the really big issues, like the economy, taxation, national defense, defense of our borders, and enforcing federal law, and not on the homosexual agenda.
Romney is smart in what he is doing, namely preparing to restore gravitas to the Presidency and ignoring the leftist homosexual agenda. If Romney took the bait, the leftist homos and every other kind of extremist leftist group would simply gen up one of these kind of pseudo-controversies every day. That kind of nonsense would do wonders for taking the focus off of Obama’s record of economic destruction. I say, stay on message Romney, hammer Obama on his record until he’s been pulverized into dust. Do not be distracted by the pseudo-issues and obfuscations of the leftists! Do not play their game! After Romney's success in turning around the Salt Lake City Olympics, talk arose that he might seek to be governor. The question was, of which state? Utah or Massachusetts? Clearly, he made a bad career move in picking the latter.
If we focus on electing Tea Party people to our legislatures (like Cruz and West), we need not worry about homosexual marriage gaining a foothold in this country.

Economic issues are crucial... but they are not the only important thing in this campaign. Why would it be so wrong for him to simply say he supports freedom of religion and freedom of speech?

It is completely alien to our culture and history, and people are irate. Believe me, there are more people on our side of this issue than on the other...

I sorta promised some FREEPERS that I was going to vote for Romney just to get rid of Obama. But I have a serious problem with rewarding someone the Presidency that does not deserve it. It is only August and I am sure that when I walk in the voting booth, I will pull it for Romney but it is the worst feeling ever and I did not even have this feeling last round with McCain....Even if Palin was not the VP nom, I did not have this revolting feeling about McCain.
