Obama: Hire New Teachers So They Can Eat at Restaurants By Terence P. Jeffrey August 3, 2012
(CNSNews.com) - Speaking at Loudon County High School on Thursday night, President Barack Obama summed up the economic situation in America by telling the crowd: “Nobody is satisfied.”
Explaining his vision of job creation, Obama said that if the country hired new teachers those new teachers could go to restaurants and spend money.
“Look, nobody is satisfied with our pace of growth,” Obama said Thursday in Leesburg, Va. “Nobody is satisfied.”
While mentioning “all the jobs” created by his administration, Obama said it was nonetheless necessary to create more jobs by, for example, getting more money to construction workers and hiring more teachers.
If construction workers had more money, they might buy new cars, the president said. If we had new teachers, they could go out to restaurants and eat.
“Even with all the jobs we’ve created, we’ve got to create more,” said Obama. “But if you look at our history, if you look at the facts, every time we’ve grown, it hasn’t been by the top down. It’s been from the middle out. It’s been from the bottom up.
“When middle-class families are doing well, lo and behold, everybody does well,” said Obama. “If that construction worker has got a little extra money in his pocket, he goes and spends it maybe on a new car. When we’ve got new teachers doing great work with our kids, then you know what, they go to a restaurant and spend that money. And so suddenly businesses are doing well, the economy is doing well, and we get into a virtuous cycle. And we go up.”

1) You hire new teachers.
2) Where does the money come from to pay the new teachers? You have to raise taxes, which takes money out of the economy (and results in things like fewer people eating at restaurants).
3) The new teachers now have money to eat at restaurants. But, all this does is restore to economy back to its previous level before you took the money out in taxes to pay the teachers.
He isn't growing anything, he's just moving the money around. Every dollar of "economic growth" created by a teacher spending money, is offset by a dollar of economic shrinkage caused by taxation.

The important thing is that some of it is going to the union up front, and then to his campaign.
Maybe if you lowered taxes on “wealthy people” they might be able to hire more workers who could buy houses (that are built by construction workers), buy cars, eat at restaurant and have kids who could go to schools that hire new teachers.
Translation: Pay union workers (teacher and construction) above market “prevailing” (i.e., union-scale fantasy) wages for work we don’t need, so they can kick back to the Dems via dues... and maybe you’ll get some trickle-down spending at your plebian restaurants, too.
What a clueless moron. The reality is very simple. The only jobs that drive an economy are those that create new real wealth. All other jobs exist to service those. Obama has never had a real job, and the only thing he ever built was a joint.
While the rest of us were studying in high school, Obama was too cool for school. As Bill Ayers wrote in “Dreams From My Father,” Barry “spent the last two years of high school in a daze.” The future president “attended classed sparingly, drank beer heavily, and tried drugs enthusiastically.” How could we expect him to understand basic economics? And it’s racist of us to ask!
My take is that he knows the truth but why should he care about that?

Obama rode a wave of anti-Bush sentiment to gain power as he was trained to do. Now he has to double down because his only source of money are the people who carried him to the WH and he desperately needs their cash.

Sometimes I wonder if Obama is such an economic illiterate that he actually believes that the government creates wealth by printing a lot of paper money. But mostly I assume he’s a cynic who knows better but counts on the majority of Americans having been “educated” in government schools and thus kept in absolute ignorance of basic economic facts.

Tax the private sector, borrow more from the future, and give it to the ruling class. They can then trickle it down to the lower classes.
But... by moving that money from you and me to the teachers, he’s more likely to get votes. There is a method to his madness.
Hire ditch diggers and then hire more people to fill them in. This guy is so profoundly stupid. Socialist systems always fail because they can never create real demand; only misallocation of resources.
If 0bama really had his way, he would hire more IRS agents and EPA officials. That way, not only would resources be misallocated, existing wealth would be destroyed even faster, which is the obvious goal for 0bama.
What stares him in the face and he refuses to acknowledge is that there are TOO MANY teachers .... an oversupply. They have constantly reduced class sizes from 25-35 in the 60s down to 10-15 today with 3-5 teachers aides per class and 5 times the money while performing abysmally. A good portion of the teachers from urban areas could not even qualify for a job at a restaurant if required to speak English, show up for work consistenly, and do 5th grade math in their heads.
Oil well drillers, refiners and their support crews eat more than teachers...That’s cuz they actually work...
