"Palin endorsements don't mean snot!"

I’m not surprised by this, but I am a little surprised that the Washington Post noticed it. Despite media claims that the Tea Party has gone dormant and that Sarah Palin’s influence has waned, the candidates she backs for office have an uncanny knack for winning their elections — even when they start far off the pace:
Former Alaska governor Sarah Palin — though derided on the left and recently dismissed by former vice president Dick Cheney as a poor pick in 2008 — is nevertheless proving her enduring power within the Republican Party in the most concrete of ways: She keeps picking winners.
Similarly, Palin backed Tea Party upstart Richard Mourdock against longtime incumbent Dick Lugar in Indiana’s GOP primary. Palin endorsed Mourdock late in the cycle, just a couple of weeks before the primary.
Each of five candidates she has endorsed this year who have faced primaries or other campaigns have won, including former Texas solicitor general Ted Cruz, who Tuesday beatthe state’s well-connected lieutenant governor for the Republican nomination for the U.S. Senate. …
She has endorsed just nine Republicans this year — five of them women, according to the Web site of SarahPAC, her political committee. In an interview on Fox News on Wednesday, Palin said that she is making down-ticket races, not the presidential campaign, a focus of her efforts this year. She called Senate and House races “so instrumental in reforming government, shrinking it, allowing the private sector to grow and thrive.”
This might be easy to dismiss if Palin made a habit of endorsing front-runners, but that’s not been the case. Ted Cruz started off at a large disadvantage to Lt. Governor David Dewhurst in practically every metric imaginable.

And come Tuesday, Sarah Palin will have another feather in her hunting cap when Sarah Steelman wins the Primary in Missouri. And goes on to send Ma McCaskill to the recycle bin.
What was stunning about the endorsement of Mourdock was the chain of events described by the Politico in Indiana on the Friday before the Primary. The Indiana GOP - in cahoots with the SRCC and the RNC - listed a series of events, rallies, phone banks, etc that they were sponsoring for Lugar over that weekend. That went out at 10 AM. At 2 PM that same Friday, Palin endorsed Mourdock. By 6 PM that same night, the Indiana GOP, SRCC, RNC and such WITHDREW all of those events they had planned for Lugar. They basically admitted they cannot compete with her endorsement power.
I wonder what the odds are that Mitt would pick Sarah Palin as VP?..................

But with all due respect, I will not be voting for Sarah Steelman on Tuesday. She is not the best candidate in that race. I disagree with Sarah Palin on this one.

In addition, Steelman is staunch defender of RKBA. A Board Member of Missouri Club for Growth. She is pro-Right to Work. Pro-major tax reform.
A recent survey of 50 establishment Republicans (Maryland Heights Patch-July 16) showed they favored Akin 51% to Brunner (45%) and NONE supported Steelman. These were Republican cmte. people, officials, activists, and party leaders.

I’m deeply saddened that Sarah decided against running for the presidency. But I am very pleased at her efforts to help conservatives get elected all over the country.
As opposed to the other guy who infects candidates with Toxic Baraq Syndrome and can’t get a national candidate in a swing state to appear with him.

These Primary victories are going to be Pyrric if we don’t win the general elections. We absolutely need the most conservative Congress we can get. That will prove Sarah’s bona fides.
We will need EVERY conservative we can get in there, even if
Romney is elected. Romney is no friend to conservatives.
And without a conservative counter-balance, the GOP could
end up spending like drunken sailors when Bush was president.
We need a conservative Congress for generations, not just to counterbalance Romney, but I hear ya.
