Two News & Record reporters returned to the office in the past hour after checking Chick-fil-A restaurants for on-site kissing by supporters of same-sex marriage.
The reporters visited four Chick-fil-A's.
They saw no kissing.
We'll stop by local Chick-fil-A's again later today. Let us know if you see Chick-fil-A kissers.
Kiss-ins, set for today, were to be same-sex marriage supporters' answer to Wednesday's -- what? -- eat-in. That's when supporters of Chick-fil-A President Dan Cathy's stance against same-sex marriage packed its restaurants in the Triad and elsewhere.
Of course, 'tis easier and probably more fun to register support by eating out than to declare your opposition by public smooching -- especially on private property where neither restaurant managers nor some other diners will welcome you.
In other words, any "I'm for same-sex marriage" kissers will have to be more committed to their cause than were many of Wednesday's diners.
Cathy told an online Baptist publication in mid-July that he endorses the biblical view of marriage. The predictable response from same-sex marriage supporters followed. Then former Arkansas governor and one-time presidential candidate Mike Huckabee suggested via Facebook that those who hold to Cathy's view visit Chick-fil-A's for lunch on Wednesday.
Chick-fil-A announced Thursday that it had record-setting sales Wednesday. The Atlanta-based company, with more than 1,600 restaurants, is privately held and does not release financial information. It provided no specifics about Wednesday's sales.
No signs of Chick-fil-A kiss-in protesters in North Texas http://www.wfaa.com/news/business/No-signs-of-Chick-fil-A-kiss-in-protesters-in-North-Texas-164903176.html
And that suits this North Texan just fine.
No sign of it in Bluffton SC or Savannah Mall ... But was surprised at number of customers. Almost twice as many as nearby stores.
2 gay men kissing at a fast-food restaurant. Guess they are using the “starting” process of their “sex-snack” instead of the usual end product. How progressive!
The protest was a “no-show” in the ATL ‘burbs...
No protesters in Colorado. It was packed though. Long drive through line, nowhere to park. Lots of families eating there at lunch time.
The MSM would have these incidents plastered across their news hours if it was happening.
The fact that they’ve been quiet is very telling, I think.
Drove in to work this morning instead of my usual public transporation. When I drive, I make a Chick-Fil-A drive-thru stop for breakfast and coffee. Happened to glance in at the clientele and only saw happy customers enjoying their delicious food and hot coffee. No gay exhibitionists.
Good point, re: silence from the media.
Of course most of you forgot that they can’t come out into the sunl... oh wait.
My mistake. ;^)
No sign in Burlington, MA. But I did learn firsthand that freedom taste just like chicken.
as a fellow North Texan... amen to that!
The media has been flogging the “Kiss In” 24-7 since Wednesday.
Well, this is funny: http://www.tmz.com/2012/08/03/chick-fil-a-cops-called-at-kiss-in-event/
“Drama at the Chick-fil-A same sex ‘Kiss-In’ event in Hollywood ... TMZ has learned the chicken joint called police today claiming the MEDIA was harassing its employees.”
You're outnumbered, sodomites. Badly outnumbered.
Chick-fil-A in SW OH was mobbed for lunch. No smooching but lots of chikin eatin’.
Same here in Greenville,SC....
Drove by the Chick-fil-a near me not a protester in sight...not even a single person with a sign. The drive thru was backed up and the store looked full with people enjoying a good chicken sandwich! Hopefully the libs will be this dispirited in November and not turn out to the polls.....(I’m sure the one protester that did show up will get a full interview tonight on the evening news)
When we visited Chick Fil-A in the local mall Wednesday, I looked around at folks and I’m going to guess that 80% of those in line really had NO IDEA there as any controversy. They just like Chick Fil-A and probably eat there often. I did see on tv many people who knew why there were there, and anyone who stood in the heat for an hour had some very strong convictions! Good for Chick Fil-A to plan ahead and offer water to waiting customers. Very compassionate act on their part.
Purposely went to the one in Irving with camera just in case. Instead I wound up shooting pics of all the cars lined up at CFA vis-a-vis the nearly empty drive thru at the adjacent McDonald’s
No homo kissers They must have been protesting at the Junnah service at the mosque down the street.
They had 4 minutes and 10 paragraphs set aside just for them.
Now, once inside I scanned the rear (sorry) of the joint for public displays of gay affection and any associated mischief. Nothing. Merely lots of kids with parents, and two uniformed officers sitting at a table looking bored outta their minds. It was busy, but in the customary CFA way. Not like Wednesday which was unlike anything this reporter has witnessed.
I thought it interesting that the cashier in the next line informed the customer that she would have to charge for water, and asked if it was okay. He agreed, but I don't think he was on THAT team as no alarms went off, if you no what I'm talking abt. So, indeed, the smell of leftist failure even overwhelmed the fried chicken. Oh, happy day!
Let’s face it, the “kiss-in” is dumb. I mean, it’s obnoxious and nobody will like you, except maybe the lib newspapers.
If they were smart (should I be giving ideas?) they would have scheduled a run on notoriously gay loving companies, like Ben and Jerry’s. Years ago (80’s?) I went to Vermont B and J’s and they had their views very prominently posted on the wall. Was shocked to see gay marriage listed as one of them, because back then everyone recognized that as sort of weird and creepy.
Didn’t feel the need to out them or anything, they were entitled to their opinion. I DID tend to buy another ice cream if I felt like it, not all the time tho.
My cousin went to the one in Northridge, CA, not one protestor in sight..place was packed with people, which was good to see. When leftists protest its always an epic fail
...not as glorious as the one the night before... :-)
I'm unsure how that even happens...but today I blame soft serve ice cream brain freeze.
Truer words have not been spoken.
Went to CFA for lunch...very, very busy but no obvious sodomites to be seen.
There's a real simple reason why they won't try this: no one would notice. They wouldn't even be a blip on a blip. Their numbers just aren't big enough.
They've gotten where they've gotten by taking advantage of societal mechanisms for protecting the few from domination by the many. The courts, the media, the civil rights laws. They've then used these mechanisms to insert themselves into the ganglia of mass communication.
By converting these institutions to their purposes they've been able to amplify their visibility and emotional appeal by orders of magnitude.
And not a one in Cincinnati's Eastgate store at twelve noon. THIS is what it is going to be about. The tiny, bitchy, whiney Left is going to be buried by the motiviated, outraged, Conservative Right. I can see November from here.
I would have written this way:
“Happened to glance in at the clientele and only saw gay customers enjoying their delicious food and hot coffee. No homosexual exhibitionists.”
There are very few ‘gay’ homosexuals.
The leftists probably forgot to pay them to show up. Epic fail.
‘Amplify their visibility’. Exactly right. they’ve been so prominent in the media they seem as if they’fre half the US population.
the good thing about the Chik-Fil-A spontaneous protest is that it shows up how few they really are.
They are sort of a viritual population.
Today is the third day this week I’ve eaten at Chick-Fil-A. They (the crybabies) need to understand that in addition to this being a support of traditional family values it is support for Cathy’s 1st Amendment right to have his own opinion. The CFA that I went to was still quite busy.
thanks for the info
LOL! Well said.
most welcome - we’ll see if they show tonight.
I'm guessing the same at both CFA Cedar Park locations.
Epic Fail!
And that suits this North Texan just fine.
You may add this North Texan to the long list as well. Hell, I read somewhere the “organizer” of this homo “kiss-in” is from Flower Mound. Having worked in that area, I doubt the protest will take place at any Chick-fil-a restaurants near there. The only place I figure there would be a protest would be near the Oak Lawn area in DFW and Montrose area for Houston. For those not acquainted with these areas, they are the “gay” areas.
I've been to my Chick almost every day this week and already for breakfast this a.m. (McKinney area) Typical busy traffic for mine and, of course, not a protester in sight. Staging one at mine would be akin to having one at a NASCAR event. Epic fail!
Any Chick-fil-a’s near Hippie Hollow? I hear it’s actually now the Homo Hollow. I haven’t been to Austin for about 10 years. Sure had an outstanding time tearing up 6th street back in the 80’s though!
I wanted to stop at the one in the 1890 shopping center, but there were lines out the door and the drive thru line was long too. No kissers there either, but that is Williamson county.
Jacksonville NC long line of cars, no Butt Pirates or Rug Munchers....
No sign of any type of protest in Olathe, KS at 12pm today; however, very large crowd again—wait in the drive thru was approx 40 minutes..
The nearest CFA to Hippy Hollow is the Lakeline Mall location in the food court.
...can't wait till In-N-Out comes to Central Texas. They are buying a location in Round Rock just south of 1431 on I-35.
The closet Chik-Fil-A is probably 5-10 miles as the crow flies from HH. I live in Dallas and the only reason I know about it is we were looking for a place to eat while on our annual (straight) guy’s weekend last year and passed one on the way back in to town.
After HH, we went to Pease Park for Eeyore’s birthday. The scenery was better, but there was an obvious lack of familiarity with razors at both places.
I enjoy visiting Austin for the “weird factor” in small doses, but I’m so very happy I grew up and still live in Dallas.
And, by the way, I was there from 86-90. Loved 6th Street.
“No homo kissers They must have been protesting at the Junnah service at the mosque down the street.”
I have posted before that I work in Afghanistan and I have a unique view into daily life here.
There are more homo’s, pedophiles, and bestialicists in Islam than you can imagine.
So, of course they won’t protest there.
They are, of course, afraid of Islam’s version of homosexuality....I mean, they would rightly be afraid of getting their heads cut off if they were, perchance, to (pardon the expression) screw up.
They are probably afraid of being photographed and losing their jobs. And they don’t want to spend money at such a hateful business.
Maybe they are shopping at JCP and Target today.
Threw a camera into my tank bag and rode my motorcycle 25 miles to San Antonio to support Chick-Fil-A against the thousands of homo agitators protesting outside but the homos forgot to show up.Spoiled my day.
CFA very busy but those folks are so polite! Talked to the Manager a second time to bring to his attention that I had traveled expressly to support them and he, again, thanked me.
San Antonio Sodomites, where are you?????
Have you tried Mighty Fine Burgers? We ate there about a month ago and the burgers are some of the best I’ve eaten.
