Vante regrets the unfortunate events that transpired yesterday in Tucson between our former CFO/Treasurer Adam Smith and an employee at Chick-fil-A. Effective immediately, Mr. Smith is no longer an employee of our company.
The actions of Mr. Smith do not reflect our corporate values in any manner. Vante is an equal opportunity company with a diverse workforce, which holds diverse opinions. We respect the right of our employees and all Americans to hold and express their personal opinions, however, we also expect our company officers to behave in a manner commensurate with their position and in a respectful fashion that conveys these values of civility with others.
We hope that the general population does not hold Mr. Smith's actions against Vante and its employees.
Well, I did send the CEO an email advising that the lack of judgment displayed by a C-level employee in this public manner would be grounds for immediate removal in varios companies I’ve been involved with, as it would affect public and marekt percetion of how well the company is run (and thus their stock price). The astounding lack of sense shown by this bozo in this incident is consistent with his judgment that queer marriage is a good idea.

Or, on the condition of first successfully completing Anger Management Class, he is offered a position manning the Drive-Thru window at Chick-fil-A.

I imagine there is pressure by Alumni of U of A to fire this professor.
Since he is an adjunct professor, it is not hard to do.

I dunno... she looked surprised, but not traumatized. My guess is, she was prepared for the possibility of a jerk like that and given specific instructions on what to do. If so, that would indicate good management.

Maybe, but it’s also a university, so I imagine there is even greater pressure from the Queer Lobby to retain and glorify him.
On the other hand, an “adjunct professor” paycheck won’t put much food on the table for him and his four kids and his... er... “partner”. :-)

I would hope that rather than traumatized, she’d be gratified, if maybe a little overwhelmed, by the outpouring of empathy for her. And maybe even feel a bit vindicated.
I dunno. She handled herself well but as a woman I can definitely tell you that she was scared. He was acting like a loon and after the recent Aurora shooting, it probably crossed her mind that he could go off.

"Rachel", (i think was her name) I feel will be blessed abundantly for handling the situation so well. No doubt will be getting job offers of her own. That kind of character can't necessaarily be taught....you either have it or you don't. She has it. She has already proven to a prospective employer how she handles herself under pressure.
Chick-Fil-A handled yesterday's swarm amazingly. We went to one at 9:30 at night. It was packed, but all employees were still smiling and helpful. We even had one come to our table to see if we would like a free cup of coffee: "I just put a fresh pot on...would be happy to bring anyone a cup!"
Hopefully they’re on it, you’re right about him possibly going postal.
I hope this girl is a Christian and if she’s interviewed she’ll say she forgives the guy.
I’d also be afraid this guy will get revenge or go postal.
