KC teen charged with robbing, raping 84-year-old woman

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A Kansas City teen has been charged with raping and robbing an 84-year-old woman.

Tony L. Putman, 18, was charged Tuesday with forcible rape, second-degree robbery and felonious restraint.

The alleged victim told police that she came home from running errands on Monday afternoon when she heard her 93-year-old husband moaning. When she went upstairs, she said the suspect tied her hands and demanded money.

After she gave him several hundred dollars, he raped her and drove away from the house in her vehicle.

The woman's husband, who had been hit in the face and tied up in his bedroom, was able to break free. According to court records, he found her lying on the floor in a nearby room.
