Former New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson says that he is afraid of Marco Rubios ability to cut into President Obamas Latino support.
Richardson, a Mexican-American who ran against Obama in 2008 for the Democratic presidential nomination, said that the freshman Florida senator is one of the Republican Partys fastest-rising stars who could make the GOP more appealing to Latino voters both in this election and in future ones.

Yeah, Marco is really different from the traditional RAT Hispanic “Leader” who is corrupt, philandering and so damned crooked that when they die, they are buried using a screwdriver!
"It was at the Chicago home of [Bill] Ayers and [Bernardine] Dohrn that Obama, then an up-and-coming 'community organizer,' had his political coming out party in 1995. Not content with this rite of passage in Lefty World where unrepentant terrorists are regarded as progressive luminaries, still working 'only to educate' both Obamas tended to the relationship with the Ayers."

"Kill all the rich people. Break up their cars and apartments. Bring the revolution home, kill your parents, that's where it's really at"

"As a gesture of solidarity, the Vietnamese who [Bernardine] Dohrn met in Budapest presented her with a ring made from an American aircraft shot down over North Vietnam. Bill Ayers would receive a similar ring while meeting with Vietnamese communists in Toronto. He later recalled being so moved by the gesture that he 'left the room to cry.' "
“I like him.”, said Richardson.
“My faith in Americas promise was shaped early on by my parents who left Cuba in 1956 and, after Fidel Castro solidified his communist grip, were never able to return.”—Marco Rubio
Me thinks thou doth protesteth too much. I don’t believe he’s one bit afraid of Rubio.
I don’t believe anything any of these cretins like Richardson say. Every time one do them does this it looks like a false flag to me. Maybe I’ve become too cynical. I like Rubio and think that he would put some spine in Mitt’s campaign but nobody votes for VP do they?
I do. And I've read about Democrat fears of Rubio in other places. Can you imagine a Veep debate between Rubio and Biden?
I don’t believe democrats ever tell the truth.
An eggplant could beat Biden.
You know, when a Democrat comes out and says something like that, I am skeptical. It’s more likely that the reality is exactly the opposite of what he is saying; ie that they are really not scared of Rubio and they don’t think he will do much at all to influence the Latino vote. Otherwise, they would keep their mouths shut rather than give their enemies good advice.
I read the leftwing sites regularly for the DUmmie FUnnies. Believe me. They are truly scared of Rubio.
Richardson needs to fear whoever Romney appoints as Attorney General.
He's just trying to scare potential voters away from him. Why? Because Rubio is an anti-communist Hispanic.
I think the Demonic Party is deathly afraid of any individual who happens to be minority and has the ability to articulate conservative values and principles to traditionally “enslaved” demonic voters. Marco Rubio and Allen West are only two examples...
Here is the problem:
If Rubio would cut into Obama’s hispanic support, it destroys the conservative notion that hispanics do not vote as a block and issues like illegal immigration do not matter to them.
If Rubio does not cut into Obama’s hispanic support, he is of no use to Romney other than being an attack dog.....and there are others who could do that far more effectively.
Of course he's afraid of him. Rubio is an anti-communist Hispanic who possibly could be the next VP.
...might screw up that whole “Fundamental Transformation”, “Change” thing of Obama’s.
"I'd like to put these VP nomination rumors to rest once and for all. While serving as VP would be a great honor,
I'd not be able to accept the office as I am not a Natural Born Citizen.
My parents became US Citizens after my birth so by the eligibility requirements specified in Article. II. Section. 1. I'm not eligible.
The fact that the CommiecRAT Party lied about their usurper Obama's status doesn't change the Constitutional Natural Born Citizen requirement."
That he doesn't, tells me a lot about his integrity and who he really is.
Richardson is the kind of slime ball that will tell you you're a dear friend of his while at the same time picking your pocket and stealing your wallet. He's a classic con man, phony-baloney Leftist politician. However, he and his comrades are definitely afraid of someone like Marco Rubio.
Rubio is pro DREAM Act which, while being personally politically beneficial to Rubio, will help to permanently change the voting patterns in this country that will guarantee an increasingly socialistic form of government.
I see he’s crawled out of the woodwork.
If he did that he would demonstrate a complete lack of understanding of what Natural Born Citizen is. There are two types of citizenship: Natural Born and Naturalized. There is NO third type of bizarre Citizenship Purgatory in between. Oh, and Native Born citizen is merely a SUBSET of Natural Born, not a separate category.
Why isn’t Richardson in jail ?
Could Marco Rubio Save Mitt Romney?
By CHQ Staff | 7/27/12
Speculation over who will fill the Republican vice presidential nomination was fever-hot among conservatives — and not in a good way — when the names of establishment Republican and longtime Bush acolytes Condoleeza Rice and Rob Portman were floated as topping Mitt Romneys short list of candidates.
Now the conservative firestorm over Rice and Portman has abated, at least temporarily, as the name of Floridas Tea Party-backed Senator Marco Rubio has allegedly percolated to the top of Romneys list.
Marco RubioRubio would certainly add much to the Romney ticket that neither Portman nor Rice could hope to add particularly in the realm of generating conservative enthusiasm.
Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush said recently that he thinks Rubio is ready to be vice president and that he has shared those thoughts with Romney.
That Jeb Bush, a leading establishment Republican, would bless the Rubio nomination is a great step forward.
It shows that some astute establishment Republicans are starting to grasp that Romney cant win without enthusiastic conservative support, and that they understand Romneys choice of a conservative vice presidential nominee is key to generating that enthusiasm.
Rubio has always been a strong contender as far as we are concerned.
His come-from-behind campaign to defeat the sitting Governor, and anointed establishment Senate candidate, Charlie Crist, promptly made Rubio a political legend.
Rubio has won statewide election in Florida, a crucial swing state, and his immigrant roots and Hispanic heritage add an appeal to independent voters outside the traditional Republican coalition.
But most importantly, Marco Rubio has a record of standing for small government constitutional principles, and when it comes right down to it, thats what conservatives and Tea Partiers are looking for in the Republican Partys national ticket.
Governor Romneys pollsters and consultants will no doubt test and focus group every likely vice presidential candidate and give the Governor the metrics that he is so fond of on each potential candidate.
However, the attribute that will save Mitt Romneys candidacy if he chooses Marco Rubio is not Rubios Hispanic surname or immigrant roots — it is that small government constitutional conservatives and Tea Partiers will back him with the enthusiasm reserved for one of their own.
Back in early 09, I attended a TEA party event where Rubio spoke.
He was heckled by a hard-core conservative member of our group for his position on AZ’s immigration while he was FL speaker of the house. I was ignorant back then. But now I understand.
“It was Americas commitment to limited government and free enterprise that opened doors for me. And its this same free enterprise system thats under assault today.
Since Ive been in the Senate, I have proudly been on the side of job creators and parents whose mission in life is to build a strong and prosperous America their children will be blessed to inherit. Ive supported efforts to Cut-Cap-and-Balance our budget; add a strong Balanced Budget Amendment to the Constitution; save Medicare; repeal ObamaCare; oppose short-sighted budget gimmicks and spending plans; and approve job-creating free trade agreements. And I opposed raising the debt ceiling in the absence of real measures to control our long-term spending problem and provide greater certainty to job creators.
Ive also engaged in our national conversation about Americas foreign policy and proudly articulated my beliefs about Americas national interests in opposing dangerous tyrants, standing with freedom fighters and being a forceful voice for democracy and human rights. In the course of my work, Ive especially felt blessed to meet and represent so many patriotic, courageous men and women who put their lives on the line for us every day.”
I don’t have any thoughts about Rubio one way or another because I really don’t know that much about him but Richardson is an idiot. He just wants everyone to think he is still relevant because he is Latino.
Why on earth would the dems tell the republicans how to beat them? The dems are NOT afraid of Rubio. They want Rubio to give cover for Obama not being a NBC and they know we in the conservative base have a significant number who will see Rubio as pandering to the illegal crowd and amnesty and will NOT vote.
Remember last election it was McCain who they "feared"!
Seriously how can anyone fall for this crap? They want Mitt to pick Rubio so Obama can WIN.
Nothing against Rubio, but I don’t think we should be playing this Racial Gerrymandering game which the Democrats instigated.
He likes Rubio and has a healthy respect for him but, I think he is overestimating Rubio’s ability to draw Latino votes.
Richardson, on the whole, was balanced in his views and wants the entire Latino community to unite
Yep, he’s one of Clinton’s handmaidens. I’ve never trusted the guy, and never will.
“Can you imagine a Veep debate between Rubio and Biden?”
Indeed I can! Rubio is one of the smartest, most articulate, fast-on-his-feet politicians today. A debate between him and Biden would be “no-contest”. Like a “debate” between a lion and a cornered chipmunk.
Should Romney choose Rubio or anyone else for his VP who was not born to here to two citizen parents at the time of his/her birth, he picks a fight with this very active voting block and essentially puts himself into the same category as obama.
This is probably not a good plan unless he wants to split off a group that might otherwise vote for him and make them his enemy as he will certainly become theirs.
Maybe there's a better choice that might win friends instead of make enemies?
